jonnygt
How easy is this? Ive got 2 starlets, im wanting to take a back box and centre section off my sr and put it onto my glanza S . Then take off my glanza S system and put it on SR Just swopping them over...how easy/hard is it and what tools and equipment will i need? And is it do-able in a few hours? Thanks
Ollieh17
Not sure on those cars. But takes no more than a hour, usually a lot less to take it off a glanza. Usually just nuts and bolts and a few rubber hangars

iamlegend
simples mate unbolt it from the cat/decat and take it off as a one if can the hardest bits are the rubbers the exhaust uses so grease em up lol

jonnygt
Exhaust hangers are in differet places by looks of it
aaddzz123
If the hangers are in different places I wouldn't even bother thinking about it because it will be more hassle than it's worth. But if you do go ahead with it it's not always straight forward as nuts and bolts seize, rust and snap off, some round off and really the only way to get some off in the end is with oxygen and acetylene. It's worth soaking every nut, bolt and stud in wd40 for a few days if it looks a little old and it should help a lot but even with that said if you've never done it before and will be doing it on your drive way, I think realistically you should be giving yourself a good few hours with the help of a mate... On the other hand if they both look mint they might come straight off lol. Every car is different but to give you an idea I've worked in a few garages, one of them being national tyres so I did 4-5 exhausts every day and one exhaust could take 10 minutes to get it on the ramp, take the old off, put the new one on sealed and lined up properly and back off the ramp, and then another could take an hour if everything is seized or rounded or doesn't quite line up right or needs slight adjustment etc. But that's with a ramp and workshop. I changed my GT exhaust on the kerbside just the other day funny enough and smooth sailing with no issues, all new nuts and bolts and on my own it took me about an hour and that's with years of experience. So be realistic if you've never done one, I'd say it would take 2-4 hours to do it properly providing stuff lined up lol... As for tools with starlets you can do pretty much anything with 10mm, 12mm, 14mm and 17mm spanners and sockets. Be sure to have some wd40 though and don't forget a jack and axle stands before you go under the car. Also put it in gear and keep the handbrake on... Didn't expect to type that much out lol. Have fun
aaddzz123
Also just to mention most of the time you need to separate the exhaust at every join in the system. The reason they have those joins is so that you can fit it in the first place as it will go over the beam. If it's in 3 pieces you may be able to keep the middle and front pieces connected.
