Ignition problem, possibly relay. not too sure :(

I have a problem when trying to start my glanza, ill turn the ignition on but there is no engine management light showing and therefore the engine will turn ower but with no ignition.. if i tap a couple of the relays in the fuse box the EML will show on the dash. then the car will sometimes start, any ideas woul be great cheers! Or maybe the eart wires beside the icv...
