need advice, internal damage

Recommended Posts

ok guys so my engine died recently which i have now replaced and it will be fitted over the next few days.

ive been told my pistons look like they have had some sort of foreign objects causing some damage to the sides with scoring and the turbo blades show some signs of damage also.

my question is, will it be dangerous to use my existing intercooler ? im concerned about any dirt or anything which may be in their, i have since changed my air filter as the old one i notice had some damage to the material.

is their a quick way to get rid of any dirt in their? like fill it with water and drain etc?

I'm just after building a wee 1.2 engine and didn't clean out the intake manifold and as soon as it was started little bits of metal got sucked in a scored the bores, not really worth risking.

Any major bit of pressure could suck in little bits of metal from the intercooler fins
