montanajr Posted January 11, 2008 Share Posted January 11, 2008 Well if you keep the standard TMIC once you've done your conversion and also keep the sr bonnet the intercooler will be getting no forced air and I imagine will get *very* hot. Heat soak is an issue with a top mount simply due to the fact that the cooler sits ontop of the engine, which means it gets hot if not on the move (with air being rammed through the scoop). Your best bet would be to get a proper FMIC rather than trying to adapt the std. TM to be a FM. If you plan on going through the trouble of making up piping that will allow the TM to be placed behind the bumper, why not just get a universal FMIC off of eBay for £70ish?
