how do you change the gearbox oil

Recommended Posts

i have just got a starlet which needed new clutch got it put in could anyone tell me where the gear box oil go's and how much you put in thanks :D

hi mate

u need about 2.5 litres of oil

i got one of the castrol oils available from halfrauds and got sum gbox additive aswell and its really smooth now.

ok if you want to change the oil there are 3 nuts to look for

on the bottom of the box there's a large nut to remove in order to drain the old oil,

on the side box facing the radiator there is another nut to remove, this nut is use to show amount of oil u need to put in the box when filling it.

and the nut on the top of the box is best got at by removing the cold air feed fro the stock box.

so basically

remove all these nuts

when the box is empty put back on the bottom nut, leave off the nut on the side.

with a funnel if you have it fill the box until oil comes out where the middle nut was, u now have enough oil in it.

replace the middle nut and top nut, be careful with these man as you could damage them

and thats it pretty much
