crispyeel
Wondering if anyone can help me out hereLooking to pipe my HKS actuator so that I can still use the hi-low solenoid. Can anyone shed any light on how to set this up. I know there are a few people on here that have this set upThese are the instructions that came with the actuator & I'm having a bit of trouble working out if this is how to set it up to use the solenoid or not? Mike_trx
I could be wrong, but I think you need a specific model with 2 inputs into the actuator like the standard one. It doesn't seem possible with a single input uprated actuator, unless you mock something up I guess. Mike
crispyeel
Well there was a t-piece in the box with the HKS actuator. There must be a pipe that needs cut and branched off for it to work? Edited December 23, 2014 by crispyeel
DavidAshton
If I remember correctly you just t-piece to the hi / lo boost solenoid. It's pointless to be fair it only adjusts boost by maybe 0.1 bar.
crispyeel
Ok thanks. So if it just t's off to the solenoid do you not need to run a second pipe off of the solenoid to somewhere too?
DavidAshton
It's years ago since I ran this setup but I think the second port on the solenoid that originally goes to the efi pipe has to be able to vent so don't block it.
crispyeel
Ok thanks so one pipe T's off from the actuator/turbo pipe to one port on the hi-low solenoid and the other port of the solenoid just vents to atmosphere. Is that right? Does it matter which port on the solenoid does which?
crispyeel
Can anyone confirm that this is correct?I have cut the pipe from the actuator to the turbo ready for the t-pieceI have ran a pipe from the hi-low solenoid to connect to the third port of the t-pieceCan anyone tell me where the vacuum pipe from the inlet manifold goes? Does this run to the second port of the solenoid or do I leave it disconnected?
DavidAshton
Block the port on the inlet unless you are running a bov. It is for that.
crispyeel
Cool thanks! Got a bov so I'll run a pipe to it. Do I just connect a pipe to the other port of the hi-low solenoid and leave the other end disconnected?
