Tommyk
Hi guys I recently forged my engine and it's started smoking badly. It mainly only does it when been stood idling and then I rev it and poors loads of blue smoke out then after a few revs it pretty much clears. Any ideas guys? I was wondering if maybe a stem seal has popped of or something?
maddox710
Sounds like stem seals or turbo oil seal

_shaun_
Likly turbo oil seals seeping oil when your siting at idle its pooling in the exhaust and when the revs rise its enough to burn it.

mikey4410
well u need to do a compression check and see what results are next !!!!!
onnaj1000
Had the same on my Volvo 850 t5, have a video on YouTube of it somewhere. Will look for it!But the cause was a worn turbo. After replacing it it was gone!Turned out I might had a too small exhaust or a bump in it
Tommyk
Ok guys cheers. Mikey what should compression readings be roughly for forge engine
mikey4410
shud be 160-170 on a normal standard turbo lumpso bearing in mind most forged pistons are lower comp I wud say around 150-160.most importantly there should be a varient of no more than 14psi
