Unplug the idle control valve. It probably stops when you turn the lights on as the revs die a little. It's a common problem for them to break apart inside and it causes the clicking

They're not supposed to tick lol :p. A lot of them do, but they're not supposed to. A ticking control valve doesn't affect the running of the engine, but replacing it for one that isn't falling apart inside will resolve the ticking issue :).

Afraid not matey. There is a flimsy copper disc inside that breaks apart. I think this is what causes the ticking... Take it apart and have a look, you'll see what I mean. It's easy enough to take apart and put back together :).

You probably can get a new one from toyota but you'd better be ready with your wallet out haha. I imagine they're expensive. We do sell them on jdm-ep.co.uk reasonably cheap and come with a return policy if you're not happy with it.
