Arnold Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Hi guys Just want to check, when wiring up an after market water temperature gauge, is it as simple as wiring it into the OEM dial wiring or do I have to fit an extra sensor somewhere? CheersArnold Quote
Jay2ohh Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Water temp? If so I'm sure you sandwich it in between rad hose and then wire up your gauge as it says Quote
akyakapotter Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 You fit a sensor into the thermostat housing by drilling and tapping a thread or getting an adapter for the rad hose Quote
Arnold Posted March 6, 2015 Author Posted March 6, 2015 Demontweeksyour welcome ;) Where does this go?! I can't quite get the scale of it. I wasn't sure about squeezing it into a rad hose as when the thermostat is closed, it'll say 0 won't it until it opens up? Unless you mean the bottom rad hose. Quote
Ollieh17 Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Theres a m16 bolt in the thermostat housing, you'll see it it sticks out bit. Take that out and put one of these in eith a temp sensor in the middle Quote
Ollieh17 Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Be careful though i managed to round the threads in the housing putting it in Quote
Arnold Posted March 6, 2015 Author Posted March 6, 2015 Ok cheers for the reply, I'll check it out! Quote
Gainzy Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 some ptfe tape may come useful aswell the sensor will come from your temp housing to your gauge it's near the top rad hose. Quote
