jamesh
got this wierd leak soubd before my dump valve blows off and cant figure out where its coming from. Check the video out it happens between 2-3secondsGlanza: https://youtu.be/lMs1iN20FXI
JDMfreak
sounds like the smallest amount of boost leak did you remove hotpipe when you fitted dumpvalve
jamesh
Dump valve has always been on the car since I bought it. I had to remove the pipe as I needed to replace the clamp on the turbo. So you reckon its the hot pipe leaking where it meets the turbo
JDMfreak
where ever you removed pipes they may need to be re-sealed as the smallest hole will cause boost squeal/leak
funny onion
With the engine running, spray easy start on the area you think might be leaking and the revs will rise if it is.
Mr. Chem
If the boost is leaking, easy start won't have any effect as the air will force the spray out. Better of spraying with washing up liquid mixed with water and watching for bubbles.
jamesh
tried to find any leaks today but cant seem to locate it as it only makes this sound when im driving. New video to see if anyone can figure it outGlanza unknown boost leak: https://youtu.be/YO-5V47TBkI
jamesh
Right I bought gasket sealer for the hot pipe and I still have this annoying sound. Could it be the manifold? Or is it my turbo
funny onion
If the boost is leaking, easy start won't have any effect as the air will force the spray out. Better of spraying with washing up liquid mixed with water and watching for bubbles. So when the car is ticking over it doesn't suck air throught the turbo/inlet pipes/inlet into the engine no? Found many a boost leak this way.
Mr. Chem
I use the soap method, as you can see the precise point where the boost is leaking from. Works great with any leaks where the air is being blown out. >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3KmQenhWDY&safe=active
jamesh
I dont all that and found the hot pipe was bubbling so I got a gasket sealer but it wasnt that making the noise as I can still hear it. What I have found out is it doesnt do it when I first drive and boost it does it afterwards
