adzy
When I let the clutch out and reach the biting point there is a loud whine/groaning noise, this happens nearly everytime in reverse and very occasionally in 1st when moving of slowly. What could this be? If it was the release bearing I would have thought it would have been whining every time the clutch was pressed/released?Thanks
H_D
Sounds like its the release bearing - when the car is on idle listen to it carefully from the drivers seat then hold the clutch in all the way if it gets quieter when pressed then its the release bearing. you will notice a different sound when the clutch is pressed and de-pressed
adzy
I had a listen there and can't really hear any difference tbh.Once the car has been driven for a while it stops making any noise but it takes longer than just the time for the engine to get up to temp.
