nikhilkamdar12
Hi guys, I have the EP3 COP and need the pinout for the coils. I'v looked everywhere online and cannot seem to find a solid answer to which of the 3 wires are for. I know one will be 12v, ground and the other signal but which one is which? Any help will be much appreciated Managed to find this online... If anyone can tell me if this is correct pinout for the EP3 civic coils? Stu
Looking at the plug it should be (left to right) Trigger > Earth > 12v so the illustration above looks to be correct. Should suit K20/K24/F20C What are the wire colours? Edited July 9, 2015 by Stu

I'm wiring the Haltech into them so I have all the wires ready to go. Just to clarify looking from the back of the connector as you mention is the correct pinout. Trigger, Ground and 12v.Thanks Nik Edited July 9, 2015 by nikhilkamdar12
Stu
Yeah so looking directly at either the wire side of the plug or into the plug socket in the coil itself. Did you want that dwell table? Edited July 12, 2015 by Stu
nikhilkamdar12
Perfect, Yeah sorry I didn't get back to you about that! I haven't set up the base map yet I was just gathering all the info about the parts I have to enter into the Haltech. Shall I contact you closer to the time when I have it all hooked up? nikhilkamdar12
Hi, Coming to actually wire up my coils now and i'v for some reason just forgot the wiring of where the trigger wire goes to, from the COP? So I will feed it 12v continuous and wire a switched ground to it. Now the trigger do I leave it or do I wire it up? As the ECU tells it when to fire as its getting the signal from the cam VR sensor and works it out this way? Nik
Stu
The trigger is from the ignition output channels from your ecu - I'm assuming you have at least two or it wont work
Stu
Sorry, just read this again - this isn't right, the 12v feed is switched from the main efi relay (use the original coil power feed and split to the 4 COP's, the earth is a constant and should be earthed to the cylinder head/inlet earth point. It may pay to check your ecu documentation as this really should all be in there. So I will feed it 12v continuous and wire a switched ground to it.

Cheers for the info mate, all sorted now I think I was getting confused to whether the output was a switched ground or a trigger! So trigger from ECU goes to trigger pin, ground goes to the head and 12v power is switched from the ECU EFI relay from the haltech wiring loom all done for me I'll get wiring and let you know how it goes. Also I have heard only K20 coils something is inverted and if you don't invert it on the ECU via the software you can or will blow a coil? Nik
Stu
Yes the spark edge for them is Rising Edge not Falling Edge which is more conventional for Toyotas Edited July 22, 2015 by Stu
