converting 2ee from distributor to coil setup

as above someone told me I could covert my distributor with built in coil to a coil with external coil

reason im wanting to do this I bought a starlet for spares and theres an issue with the distributor no spark

basically I wanna try get the engine running so I can sell it the car is for spares so wont be staying like it just to get engine running

Well i cant get any spark and ive changed distributor.. a mate suggested theres a wire broke somewhere in the loom running from ecu to distributor but i dont wanna get into changing looms and stuff just get ot to run then im taking engine out as its sold of it ok

The distrbutor is the same as a normal setup same as this one

If you take the dizzy out (leave it plugged in) and spin it by hand, do you hear the injectors click/fuel pump prime? This tells you that the triggering side is working correctly and the ecu is getting the signal.



Of the two plugs, the 4 pin plug is the triggering signals to the ecu and the other plug is the coil power and tacho output.

i'll try that when I pick car up stu that's a handy tip to remember I will let ya know whether it works or not and report back



ive payed for it but as its not running I cant drive it and getting a way to collect it is impossible as I don't have a tow bar or any mates willing to tow it




@colin I watched that video a few times I need to actually copy it as im working on car
