TRD Posted December 16, 2015 Share Posted December 16, 2015 (edited) Hey Team EpI have been on the depression mode lately as I was getting out of the car scene and stick to paying bills and mortgage.Last Sunday evening, this turn up on the drive. I drove 100 miles to pick it up and was very stressed as car temperature kept going up and down + power steering leaking. But that ran ridiculously hot too to the point you couldnt put your hand on the bonnet after a spirited drive lol pretty sure headgasket was on its way on mine mind so i put it down to that! I don't think it helps with how little room there was in the engine bay eother mindThe power steering fluid was splashing on the radiator and coolant was low too , so I guess this was the issue. The car does not smoke or have any funny smell from exhaust and power was great on my drive back. 7rpm gear changes no problem and not sluggish at all. TRD Posted December 19, 2015 Author Share Posted December 19, 2015 (edited) Changed the rusted power steering cooler with a gt4 used one and took me 4 hours to get it right and modify for it to fit. Also gave the radiator a flush and wiped all the dirt. Car drives fine now and temp gauge just sitting under 90°. Drove around locally in traffic to make sure all works as usual and temp didn't budge ☺. Feeling happy. I'll get pictures soon. Below is the one for gt4 I received. Luckily after realising how good the engine was and how clean and solid it was underneath I came back to my senses. I was getting petty cash offers so no way. TRD Posted February 20, 2016 Author Share Posted February 20, 2016 And it starts: First thing is get the engine a treat.So I bought water pump , timing belt, tensioners , Belts ( power steering , alternator ) , platinum spark plugs , fully synthetic oil and changed all fluids as as such. Anti freeze , brakes fluid , power steering fluid etc... Big hole in the pocket but hey what's the use of a sweet ride without a sweet running engine ????It's so clean and amazing to drive .Can't wait for sunny days. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
