typh183
my ep82 gt turbo is misfiring pretty bad and the person i bought it from says its possibly the piston rings or the 3rd piston melted. he didn't do a compression test on the car and just thinks it could be piston rings etc, it seems to start up fine and idle fine just a major misfire all the time. Just wondering whether its worth fixing the engine thats in the car atm or just go ahead and find a replacement 4efte, haven't got a huge amount of money to spend budget is around 600 700 pounds... 5e colin
probably ringlands or chipped valve use the money to buy another 1 and invest it in this 1 so you can rebuild it piston can be replaced with the engine in the car so not to big of a job if your in the know how either way head has to come of if your lucky you might see a chipped valve instead

I've worked on a few engines and have a friend who knows quite a bit about starlets who can help. Just dont wanna sink 1000 pound plus rebuilding a stock 4efte. im going to compression test it this evening and whip the head off tomorrow.
