Tachometer installation

Hy guys. I have an ep82 GI and i want to install a tachometer for my rev count. Any tutorial on how i can go about it please??

tap into your coil for signal as im not sure if there is a ecu pinout for the gi

you could open the ecu and read the pins that way

Basically, you have 3 wires on a tacho, ground, rpm signal and 12v (for the lights if it had any and maybe one more wire for the dimmer), you can get the RPM signal from the ignition coil as said by 5e colin, you can also get it from the RPM signal of your ecu the cool light be easier though, will get a diagram for you

behind your clocks there should be a wire with a thick black or brown coating on it, on the right of the middle plug. this is a rev signal. then just earth and power.

he has a micra you got the proper ep82 na ha ha ha

Tap into your negtive wire on your coil thats how its usually done

Ahh thanks Colin I'm really interested to find out how many of the Gi's are around to be honest don't here much about them

Mine is a soleil l. I finally got some time off and i managed to install the tach. Looks cool. Will get some pics up soon. Next step now is to turbo.
