SpikeyJp_68
Hi guys, bought a 4EFTE the other day but turns out it's no good. My original plan was to use the FTE rods, Pistons and head in the 4E block and the 4E crank. Now there's a good possibility I'll have a job in September and was thinking of forging it. My question is would the 4E block and crank take it ? I read somewhere that after 1998(which mine is) the FTE and FE blocks and cranks were the same ? I'm also aware of all other costs like turbo, mapping, machine work ect. Edited May 27, 2016 by SpikeyJp_68
daniel_g
You can put forged pistons and rods in a 4efe block and use the 4efe crank yes.It was early JDM 4efe cranks which were the same as turbo cranks i believe. Edited May 27, 2016 by daniel_g

I'll have to take the FE crank out and see is it the same. If it isn't, is it still able yeah ?

If it did what year was it ? Mines a 98 and heard they came with the threaded hole 98 onwards
Rob H@RCH Engineering
Yes mate mine has the threaded hole in the back, all the efe engines I've had have had the threads there.
