semi slicks.....what ones are best?
Mad Mike EP82 replied to garrygt's topic in Performance & Track Days
Any big name brands but you can't just stick semi slicks on and get full performance out of them you need to set your car up to use them for example Trackdays you can be more aggressive with setup you can run stiffer springs, camber, toe etc but this will compromise road setup can't have both with out £££££&&£££££ -

Why is Timing retarded as boost increases?
Mad Mike EP82 replied to Weyro's topic in Ignition & Fueling
Higher octane fuel burns slower less susceptible to det so don't understand your not wise point on higher octane fuel you should always use the best fuel available and you always tune with safety margin I mind for bad fuel etc -

That's why your getting det. i would change fuel less likely to get det an should increase torque/power -

VE will rise peak and drop off same as torque curve when VE drops off more advance is needed. -

You need to read what I said never said anything about retarding timing. -

spark advance should decrease as VE (airflow) increases and vice versa. VE will peak around peak torque then decrease so more advance is need after peak torque. Knock is usually around peak torque. if your using 95 fuel knock is going to be present. -
Idle would hunt if It was vac leak if it's that high sounds like cold start staying on.

True. Best thing to do is to try different pressures see which is best. I like a little oversteer to help turn my car and reduce understeer so higher rear pressure works for me
-
Front tyre pressure wants to be less not more. Heat soak from brakes and it's fwd so front tyre pressures rise quicker than rear common mistake people make

Expansion tank spitting out water?
Mad Mike EP82 replied to rockrees's topic in Alternative Engine Discussions
Are you still on standard rad and cap? Could be weak rad cap or coolant leak somewhere. Or worst case headgasket gone again or cracked head/block -
My bad

Why would u go frm 4th to 3rd at full throttle that's stupid ;) Is it just those gears? Did you do clutch yourself? I would be looking at selector first if that's ok might be something inside

Ideal Water Temp for engine for the odd boost and driving?
Mad Mike EP82 replied to koolza132's topic in MOT & Maintenance
I wouldn't be worrying about coolant temps 30psi on td04 overspeed, bearing failure, lean as fuck afr will melt exhaust wheel, pistons, valves etc your rate lucky if you haven't done this. -
