  1. I just popped into my usual garage, asked him to have a look... He said that there was no 'free play' in the peddle at all, so even when the clutch was at the top of its travel, it was possible that the clutch was still a little disengaged, if that makes sense. The clutch used to bite right at the top... 5 minutes later after him messing him the peddle, it now bites really low down. Just been in heavy traffic and warm temps, when I reached the open road there was no slip! So I am hoping that is all that will be needed!
  2. Two settings of 0.7 and 0.95bar. I will get the master and slave cylinder checked, as well as the fluid.... Before the expense of a new clutch. Cheers for the responses!
  3. Mmmmmm.... I suppose I had better look into clutches then... Not a clue what power the car is, which doesn't help when knowing what clutch to go for, Mods as follows: CT9 Hybrid Turbo Front Mount Intercooler AFPR HKS EVC HKS FCD HKS Adjustable Actuator Apex'i Dump Valve Apex'i Power Intake Induction Kit Rams Horn style Manifold Custom 2.5" Stainless Cat-back With that in mind, some sort of uprated clutch will be needed I guess.
  4. Hi All, Bit of a random one this: When the weather is cold, clutch bites and engages like a savage beast.... When the weather is warm/hot the clutch slips as soon as it hits boost... Especially after using it a lot in traffic. It literally is one extreme to the other. Due to it still engaging propely when its cold, I would like to assume that the actual clutch itself is still ok... Possibly be down to the properties of the hydraulic fluid changing with temperature? Has anyone experienced this? Cheers! Dan
  5. Hello All, I finally managed to give the car a bit of TLC... I gave it a good clean and polish. It came up pretty nice to be fair: http://s144.photobucket.com/user/danshieber/media/20130329_173921_zps2cc1877c.jpg.html'> It is still tatty in places, but not too fussed as it looks ok! I am also in search of some help... Now the weather has warmed up a little, it appears my clutch is slipping... But randomly, only when warm. It doesn't do it at night or first thing in the morn. Has anyone had this happen before? Strange how it seems temperature related, as when its cold weather it en
  6. Just bringing up an old thread in search of help... I have been looking at the Team Heko ones on ebay... I have an EP82... The only ones I can find are for the EP80.. So my question is will they fit? I'm new to the Starlets, and there seems to be a fair few models and I am unsure on what can be interchanged between them? (For example, do all 80 series share the same basic shape, same doors etc..?)
  7. Hey all, Are there any places doing decent wind deflectors for an EP82? Ive just taken off the OEM Toyota ones as they were snapped! Just some ones that slot into the window seal will do... Cheers!
  8. Thought of a few other bits the car has, but wasn't listed... So I have updated first post. 5Zigen Steering Wheel Boost Gauge on the A pillar Race Harness/belt Also noticed a HKS Adjustable actuator... I will keep adding bits I find!
  9. I managed to get the new air filter on and mounted properly over the weekend. The filter that was on it was looking a bit sorry for itself... Like so: It was attached to a piece of hosing via the stainless piece of pipe and a few silicon adaptors... It was also just resting behind the grill with a cable tie, so it was constantly moving and banging around. I managed to find an old adaptor plate from an old car, which I re-drilled to suit the new Apex'i, then I used one of the silicon adaptors off the old filter: Then it needed mounting properly, so I used a flat piece of aluminium
  10. Cheers guys! So far so good, its a fun little beast.... It appears that the HKS EVC is set at 0.75bar, with the alternative setting at 0.95... Need to get a manual for it to be honest as I can see myself blowing stuff up! Lol... Unfortunate that I don't know the history of the car and who/how the car was set up? If anyone has info on these EVC's that would be grand?! Lots to learn I think!
  11. Hello All! After a brief spell away from Jap, I have decided to come back... As lets face it, they are the best I used to have an Nissan Almera GTi, which I owned for over 5 years making it into a beast, with all the breathing mods, cam's, suspension mods etc... I sold the Almera and bought a Leon Cupra R225, which I am not going to lie, was an awesome machine with a few tasteful mods giving it 260bhp and 315lb/ft of torque! But for the cost of the car and the cost to look after it, I just wasn't using it enough. I was literally using it for a few miles here and there. So I decided that
  12. Do you have a build thread with the pic's in?
  13. Funny you should say that, as that is exactly what I had in mind! 3 - 3.5 Exit. Inward rolled. Anyone on here with a pic of a similar set up? I love the angle jap box look, but it will be difficult to get a quiet idle with a big jap box!
  14. Cheers chaps! I am booked in this afternoon for a couple of Uniroyal Rainsport 2's (Served me well on other cars)... I hope these reduce my torque steer! That said, any tyre that actually has tread will help! ha! I am also booked in for a new exhaust to be made on Wednesday... As the whole lot needs replacing, I thought I would have one made from scratch...... So this is where I ask everyone to show me their exhausts so I can get a few ideas Particually back box.... Ideally I need a fairly quite idle, so I may have to get a small-ish one, unlike the Blitz Nur Spec that is currently
  15. Thanks for the welcome! Yeh it has Recaro's in... The chap I bought the car off had them retrimmed as well. That would have been taken when my friend was up for a weekend, as he lives in Essex. I have only had it a few days. So far, I am loving it. Really good fun! Got a couple of bits to sort straight away.... The T1R's are bald on the front.... The exhaust has 3 holes in it.... The speedo/revometer bulbs need replacing.....
  16. Hi All, I have recently aquired an EP82, so I thought I would come on here and say hello... I was after something cheap and fun, so I did a part exchange deal with a friend of mine. So really, I don't know much about the car, all I know that it is great fun to drive! All the work was done by the chap previous to my friend, so there is a lack of receipts etc... So hopefully you guys on here can shed some light on what you see! Here is a pic of the engine - The obvious bits like AFPR, manifold, Apex'i Dump valve, FMIC The turbo says 'CT9' on it..... Ther
