  1. The problem I saw with the scrappage scheme was that people that could afford to get finance etc on a new car were scrappimg mint cars, for example a reasonably low mileage, rust free ek vti was brought into our local honda dealership. Scrapped. We werent aloud to touch it. But people that couldnt afford a new car are left with their rusty manky deathtrap sheds.

Great idea to get the new car market on the move again, bad idea for the second hand car market.

Some one local to me had a silver shogun evolution scrapped under the scrappage scheme but they kept it and sold it to someone who will have to re shell it. What could happen to them knowing this?
  2. sorry but unless it was like a 60mph+ roll lol to get beat in a 240bhp starlet vs a diesel 535d no offence but the starlet driver would have to be pressing the wrong pedal

You ever raced one to prove it bud? We can talk statistics all day. I know how to drive I've tracked in a lot of cars quicker than my starlet. For a diesel they are quick that's all I'm saying.

  3. A few things though.

Money in the 1990's had value and when you bought a car then you know that was hard earned money that bought it and so appreciated it more unlike these new cars so common.

Second all these new cars are all computerised, all diagnostic machines and all so no more 10mm spanner to fix anything lol.

Thirdly some of these new cars would beat our old cars and are more reliable especially my mate ate my Glanza he had a remapped 535d twin turbo runnin stupid torque. He was only like 19 so I felt stupid he bought the car and spent 450 on a remap and that's it. Also the new Astra Vxr my mate has done 167mph in it (on a private road) and its financed and standard wtf?

  4. I have been a car enthusiast like all of you lot on here for years.

I am sad all I see is young kids in financed new vehicles and all cars are starting to look the same.

All old cars are going very cheap at the moment too. The old cars are the proper cars!

The scrappage sceme screwed everything up completely there are hardly any scrapyards now either like there once was!

I miss seeing cossies on the motorway and pointing them out. Everything is becoming scarce to replace cars that anyone can have.

Anyone else feel the same way?

  5. In a pulsar you want awful tyres! Oh my..But i can see your logic though.

Yep only for mot and to move the car around that way will save me the current 3 points a tyre lol

Will get some conti's on it once I start driving it regularly. That time in between will give me time to find a bargain set of tyres or even a cheap set of alloys for it that come with excellent tyres lol

    ;)
