cool how much do you want for it? with or without the fan aswell?
-
when will you be getting rid of it dude?
-
well i only use it on the road but usually on the weekends im boosting a lot of the time, only running .8 bar on a ct9
-
wow thats cheap for the flee-bay one? £110 cheaper than the one on T.D bloody hell, hope it isnt a dud cause I'd happily have that for the price!
-
i was looking on T.D at the half sizes, im only on a stock ct9, fmic etc etc, would a twin core or triple core be better?
-
hmmm that makes sense, cheers buddy the half size is cheaper anyway
-
looking at getting a few new bits, running a stock rad at the moment, wouldnt a half size rad give less cooling efficiency than a full size rad like this? http://www.tuningdevelopments.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=1152 just curious of the difference that's all.... cheers

Forged pistons with standard rods?
EPnick22 replied to EPnick22's topic in 4E-FTE Engine Discussions
say i wanted to just stick new rods and pistons in, would it just be as easy as that? apart from balancing the rods of course but anything else? -
as above, was curious if it was possible or do they not connect the same as the stock pistons? never heard anything about it really so was just curious...
-
okay cool, i found a brand new one online for £80 so think ill go for that
-
yeah? cool would an OEM gasket be much different to the athena anyway? what thickness is the OEM one?
-
a lot of it is pretty much standard, ct9 at 0.8-1.0 bar, standard engine with 100,000 miles on it, had a head gasket 4-5 years ago with no head skim, few mods like fmic, FCD, FPR, blitz decat, sps mani
-
getting my head skimmed tomorrow hopefully, replacing an OEM gasket, what size would i need? 1.2 or 1.4?
-
the bottle had nothing in it
-
cheers guys seems simple enough ill try getting on it tomorrow
-
how do i release a piston though? any work involved with touching the crank? through the sump is all i know
-
ah okay, why cant it be taken out in one then? out of curiosity
-
okay so sorry for blocking up the threads with all my questions, but looking at where the head bolts are, it looks like i can just unbolt the head and lift the whole thing out with the cams still in?
-
im hoping that when i take the head off soon its only the head gasket, this is what ive been told due to the symptoms that happened, its getting me impatient i really want to know so i can order a new gasket and arrange a head skimming
-
did yours guzzle all the water? still havnt got it off yet dude so havnt found out mine didnt smoke out the back and actually smelt perfectly healthy? :s
-
right so Im being told lots of opinions from a lot of people about what is wrong with my engine, oil pissed all over the rocker, mist/smoke whichever came from the rocker breather, i lost all my water, low rough idle at 400-600rpm, comp test showed 120, 90, 70, 120, then when i did wet test the results were 140, 100, 110, 140. need someone who really knows their stuff to please tell me. Im having trouble getting the head off to have a real look but want to know. cause if its the pistons im just going to pick up another engine for cheap
-
Any way of telling if an engine has had it or not?
EPnick22 replied to EPnick22's topic in 4E-FTE Engine Discussions
