  1. Beyond Layman's

A lot is different - however, if you swap the sensors from your block onto the Sera block (so, knock, oil pressure, thermostat housing, intake manifold sensors), you should be fine

Or at least that's what I would figure

  2. I was in the same situation 4 years ago - didn't check the oil, oil light came on and had to drive 300mi; destroyed a couple of bearings, piston oil control rings seized and so on.

Good luck finding a 5E-FHE (from a Cynos at least), and when you do, they either command a stupid premium, or are reasonable but never hang around.

  3. Nope

They had the Lancer Evo back then in Japan (and still do), it would've clashed with sales - the Lancer Evo was only introduced in America recently, I think with the IX, and the Americans prefer large coupe's with large capacity engines. I'm being very vague here but its the general demographic of such cars, whereas in Europe obviously such cars aren't favoured

  4. I've seen Jim in person, beat that :)

Damnit, I'm being pwnt by a song...but I neither remember name nor band, the song is currently in my head, but for the last couple of days it's been buzzing in the empty chasm of my cranium. I think I may have sussed the band though, hold ownsss

  5. Take the Beat down Sammy, as I wubbed those when you were a toddler. Cheeky little things, I need one with the Zebra interior, NEED. A multitude of people have questioned my taste for cars, querying why I had the fascination for "shit"

I have quite an unhealthy fascination for this car, amongst many, MANY other atrocities:

Also Phil, I am but not characterised by one nationality, but rather I am the amalgamation of many, I prefer the reference of Racial Mutt :)

  6. Value on most aftermarket things is pretty arbitrary, and DON'T gauge them against American prices, they pay stupid money for wheels; Desmond Regamasters typically go for $2000 for an immaculate set and so on.

To pull a figure out of my head, I would reckon £400 is a reasonable ask for them, but in the end, they will get what people are willing to pay for them - in the end they're a 4x100 PCD which limits them to little Japanese hatchbacks and the Eunos etc, and they're not an aggressive enough offset for the rwd people. As I said though, I think £400 is a very good price, maybe more.
