  1. Checked pcv that's OK I've just had the car started to check ignition timing that's OK but car temp was half way but luke warm heaters and Warter started to come out overflow on radiator i pulled de cat off and there was white sludge could this be head gasket still have good compression aswell

Hi all I've recently put a 5e engine in me car which has been a good motor till now I started the car up and it chucking loads of white smoke out I have pulled spark plugs out they all covered in oil just done a compression test and got 180 180 190 180 is that OK could the headgasket go and still have this compression and we're the head meets the block looks like it's leaking oil any advice would be great

That's what I thought how can it break a rod setting of in traffic the rod snapped at the base were it clamps to the crank would of thought that's a strong point of conrod any how just got 5e motor running tonight I'll have to keep boost low as it's a standard 5e any one no max boost it can take safe it's only 5efe motor cheers

Well I think he has enjoyed the car way to much and killed it the Tit and this engine wasn't forged thank fuck but iam trying to forge an engine that's been put on hold for now as I need a car for work so I bought a paseo to take engine out and drop in me 82 and run low boost till sorted stuff out

  8. Well I let my friend take my car for a mot as I was at work last week and I came home to this not good so I've just been out and bought this

Lol ye just a little bit of boost woodruff key is well stuck looks like it's rusted on think I will have to take crank out with the pulley still attached put pulley in a vice put bolt back in and hit it with a hammer does any one no what compression these pistons are http://www.race-tech.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=33
  10. Well I've found out why I lost compression still can't get woodruff key out even warmed it up a bit still won't move

Hi all iam stripping my engine down because it lost compression on cylinder 1 so for the 1st time ever iam going to try doing the rebuild myself which should be fun because I don't no what iam doing lol any way I've got it stripped down to the block still got crank and pistons in but no matter what I try I can not get this woodruff key out its well stuck in has any one got any ideas as iam stuck on what to do next I have already broke the edge of the pulley so I will need a new one I just can't get it free at all

Hi all recently I have had both rear calipers off while changing disk and pads I had the brake pedal pushed Down to the floor so brake fluid didn't pass all over put it all back together bled all the air out and pedal still goes to the floor if I pump the pedal a few times it gets hard let go for literally 2 seconds and goes back to the floor but when pedal is on the floor you can't turn the disk am puzzled with it think I cud off popped the seals in master cylinder and will a UK starlet one fit cheers

  14. Ok cheers from what I've seen they say wiseco pistons fit standard rods and the max speeding one's say they are standard fitment aswell so they should fit not priced JE pistons yet £450 for wiseco thought about the 5e build myself lol
  15. what rods are you using bud so will wiseco fit aswell as JE pistons going to attempt my 1st engine rebuild so just gathering as much info as poss cheers
  16. As above I've been reading a few post on here about people using these rods and iam going to try sum just wondering if any one new which forged pistons would fit these

  18. mainly bought it for motor drop in my 82 till I can sort my fte engine out its got odd tyres on like big balloons on it I've got the shell I want so going to do a engine conversion if it goes to plan lol

Just finished compression test and number 1 has 90 psi other 3 150 so that's my problem rings are fucked gutted this was me daily car might look into a 4efe motor and put my inlet manifold on head on and sump run low boost so I can still use it for work while I get mine fixed if that's possible any one done that before any help would be great cheers

Right I've checked dizzy timing and cam belt that's timed up on the marks so that's not me problem still waiting on me mate for comp tester now if I blip the throttle the revs drop right down sometimes it dies but if I pull vac pipe of dump valve it ticks over nice rev it and drops to same revs put pipe back on it wants to die checked pic that's okay I think am lost with it
  22. ye mate I've had read of your posts a few times some good info just going to check dizzy timing again don't think i put it 10 degrees btdc while i wait for compression tester
  23. HI pal yes I know how to test it borrowing one tomorrow I'll post results up tomorrow cheers just hope it's not rings I could rebuild it myself but it's all the measuring that puts me off lol
  24. Hi mate ye I tested the pvc just before I got stem seals done you could blow through it but not such it so that's okay I think just took timing cover off to check timing that's all ok I can borrow a compression tester tomorrow see what that shows
