  1. Thanks lads for all your help got her back on road now just needed a nice slow drive and it cleared up its all good now thanx people
  2. what do i look for on the tps sensor broken wires dodgy connectors the water temp sensor is that in the block at the front on dizzy side because there is another 3sensors underneath the thermostat housing still learning on these starlets lol
  3. no water temp plug in temp gauge works went down to start it this morning fired up straight away pulled car out garage drove it up and down road ran mint till it got warm then it starts to splutters if i rev it past 2thou revs it clears up back off the throttle then splutters again only does it when its warm
  4. no engine management light on open throttle fully only thing is I never took the boost pipe off to the inlet

Hi all right ive got a problem with my engine long story short recently my headgasket went so I got the head skimmed last week bought a new HG from Toyota put it back together last night went to the car this morning checked everthing over to make sure it was right timing marks were spot on did a compression test cold I got 140 on all 4 I put new ngk iridium plugs in turned key it fired straight away it sounded mint running on all 4 I let it tick over for 20 mins then as soon as I touched the throttle its sounds abit rough then ok then it cut out it fired up straight away then cut out a few sec
  7. It never overheated when it went the 1st time it just went put new hg and bolts on it had it started for about 40mins drove it about a mile then it must of gone again hopefully the head isent wrapped

  9. ye micky you where right it was the lad in red vxr told me it would be ok what a nob head lol so when i get it skimmed would i have to get a thicker hg or can i use a oem toyota one how much is it to get the head skimmed

I stripped the head off my car last week and my headgasket burnt through cylinder1 and 2 so i bought a new headgasket from toyota blueprint cambelt and new head bolts my mate who is a mechanic told me not to get the head skimmed so i never but it back together yesterday and it ran mint for about 45 mins orso then it started running rough again can the headgasket go that fast
  11. Ye mate cheers i stuck a inspection camara down to look at the cylinder bores and tops of the pistons couldent see any thing wrong just orded headgasket kit timimg belt and headbolts hopefully thats my problem so i dont have to strip motor
  12. Just started it again taken oil cap off again this happend within a second

Started the car and took the oil filler cap off and air was blowing out felt like a fan loads of pressure i put a rag there about 20seconds later it looked like this then 10seconds later it looked like this could this mean its the head gasket dont no if this would make any diffrence but oil was flicking all over my front wing

  15. Has any one used a sniff tester for checking headgasket or is they any other better way of checking dont whant to pull engine out yet because the car was running mint before this happend no misfires
  16. Would it make any diffrence if i got engine temp warm then test it
  17. Ye did it cold this morning i tested 1&2 yesterday warm and i got 90 on both so there is some thing wrong any advive please on what to do next as i dont no much about these only had my other about a month n it got written off might buy another motor then i can fix this one
  18. right just done compression test i got 80,95.140,140 psi so i think its fucked ye i cleaned the plugs and leads put it back in fired it up still the same spark plug was just coked up again not coverd in oil i pulled out number 1 ignition lead while running it ran on 2 cylinders put that back in then i pulled number 2 lead out and it made no difference but it is still sparking no mate i don't have a fpr on it could my piston rings be knackerd is they any other way off loseing compression what about the spark plug seals
  19. I cleaned the plug and ignition lead put it back in started her up still sounds like a scooby and blip the throttle to about 2.5 revs and it sounds like some thing is making a noise near the turbo or internal i dont no much about these gutted
