  1. I was a bit stumped at first because there weren't any cut-outs of the tabs in the hole, then I realised you just fold them underneath. Looks a lot more presentable now, so thanks for that! Never understood why the UK got shafted on darker interior trim, which is even more annoying since its on practically every 90s Jap car; makes it feel more cheap, if that makes sense? The difference between the Yaris and the Vitz is another decent example. I suppose you could always spray them grey if you're really into the minor details. Wouldn't be surprised if darker ones did exist and were only fitted
  2. Probably passed it with the normal bodywork (and proper reg), then slapped on the Glanza body to make a quick profit and didn't even think about other stuff. Also like how jumbled up the description at the bottom is, really professional there lads.
  3. Ah right, cheers! Haha, mines light grey by the way, its just my crappy phone camera making it look darker. Thanks for all the other responses!
  4. Should point out that mine is a 5 door, so it could be something to do with the fully folding rear seat instead of the normal 60/40 split you get in a 3 door. I've checked underneath the seats and boot though, and there doesn't seem to be anything missing, very weird.
  5. Sorry to ask a dumb question, just wanted to know if anyone knows what this little clip is for? Found it behind my glovebox whilst cleaning out the car yesterday. Thanks in advance!
  6. Cheers mate! I'm with Ingenie; they're the ones that they advertise in that little 'First Car' booklet when you pass your theory. Didn't plan on going with them, but they ended up being the cheapest i could find (some others were well past £2,500). Was thinking about Adrian Flux, but they never called back and I couldn't find a way to do a quote online. Good point about the calipers, haha. They were on my list of priorites to be fair, but since I've changed them back to the steelies, I figured there wouldn't be much point. Who knows, all in good time! As weird as is sounds, I'm actually likin
  7. Love these rough 'no fucks given' style cars, even better since its an N/A Starlet. Definitely keeping an eye on this. Late reply, but they look like the factory GT Turbo wheels to me pal. I suppose that gives it extra JDM (and budget track car) points too!
  8. Thanks man, appreciate it! I'll be the first to admit, it really is far from perfect, but who knows, little bit of time and money and it can be looking good! 5 door Starlets seem to be a lot less common than regular 3 doors. They're aren't 'rare', you just don't see them very often if that makes sense. As for the dent, almost every used Starlet I've come across tends to have that, and that blotchy rust patch in the exact same spot as well. I've been meaning to find out why that is.
  9. Well, this is a bump and a half! Since my last post, a lot of stuff has gone on with my Starlet... but not in a good way. I passed my test, so that's something. Then, to get the cheapest insurance possible, I went with a black box policy - at which point the guy who fitted it said I couldn't keep stickers on my car or else I'd be fined (I'd already changed my wheels back to the standards, yet somehow he didn't realise the completely bodged splitter on the car). I was gonna put my wheels back on (undeclared), but just to be on the safe side, decided to sell them off and run on my 13" originals
  10. Cheers guys, the stickers will be gone shortly. Nice, I'll have to keep an eye on them, thanks for the heads up! So, the other day I saw a Megane splitter in good condition for just £20, and, well... I can't guarantee it'll be on straight away, since I have a mountain of college work to do and in all honesty, that's my biggest priority right now. That said, can't wait to see what it looks like on the car!
  11. I'm really strapped for cash at the moment (only have £70 in the bank for the rest of the month!), so I don't think any of the kit would be much good for me right now sadly.
  12. Hi all. Looking for a cheap lip for the front of my EP91 and I know that Laguna lips are quite common and popular to use. However, I've found a Megane front lip in good condition and is a lot cheaper than the next available Laguna one (which is in a very poor state as well). I'm just wondering if you think a Megane splitter would be the right sort of size? Cheers in advance!
  13. This one?: http://forums.mightycarmods.com/showthread.php?2820 My original aim was to build the exact same car, only in red. Now though, I'm just gonna stick with simpler, cheap mods like a Laguna splitter and a TTE/Glanza wing if I can get hold of one.
  14. Thanks guys! In fairness, a lot of compund, T-Cut and elbow grease has already brought most of the paint back, without the use of a buffer which actually surprised me. The whole car was like the bonnet when I got it! I think a lot of effort into doing the bonnet and bumper could easily bring it back to a respectful level; I'm just too lazy at the moment. As for the Glanza stickers, they've annoyed me slightly since the moment I put them on, mainly because one isn't on straight. They also seem to attract attention; there just always seems to be someone in the car next to me reading them i
  15. Progress blog now posted: http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/73868-red-cd-5-door-my-first-car-pic-heavy/
  16. And now the interior. The seats are another thing I wanna tackle. Ideally, I want a set of Paseo seats as they use the same factory mounting points as Starlets do, meaning hassle is minimal. Sadly, Paseo parts are hard to come by. Prodrive gear knob, taken from my dad's old WRX. Replaces the old manky one and looks quite good in my book. Still has the stock speakers! Mods I'm planning: - Import plates - TTE backbox - Lowered springs - Paseo seats - New door cards - New gear gaiter - Black bonnet (or fix the one I have now and have it carbon wrapped) - Some sort of front lip - TTE spoile
  17. Hi all, this is my 1997 CD 5-door. My first car and 'project' in many ways . Has just over 115,000 miles and two owners before me and cost £595. At the moment, money is an issue so the work done to it in the future is most likely going to be minor, as I'm looking for another job when I pass my driving test to fund the bigger stuff. Mods done: - SR indicators - 15" Wolfrace Asia-Tec wheels - Subaru STi Prodrive gear knob - Removed 'CD' badging - Replaced original stickers with Glanza S reproductions - Few random stickers SR indicators. Yes, I know the Glanza sticker is wonky. Althoug
  18. Thanks guys, will be posting some pics and starting a full thread tomorrow after college, will link it when it's ready!
  19. Hi all, been lurking on here for a while now and finally decided to make an account. Really like that is such an active community for Starlets; nice to see others who appreciate them more than just city run-arounds like most around where I live. I have a red 1997 EP91 CD 5-door. Admittedly, a 5-door isn't what I'd have ideally gone for, but hey, it's my first car and I'm more than pleased with it! It's pretty rough around the edges (dented in a few places, massively faded bonnet) and I'm not the most knowledgeable on working with cars, yet I hope to learn a few things and turn it from a ch
