  1. Right, finally got around to spraying my strut brace back to black. Not the best job, but it's not too bad considering it's my first ever try painting with spray cans! Only one run in it, and its on the bottom, so it isn't even visible. Also, the flash was on, so it makes the middle look like its unpainted when it actually is. Looks way stealthier and standard - which is the point.
  2. Good to see you keeping it, it still has lots of potential!
  3. Black quadlight GT, with black alloys, front mount and what looked like Recaro fishnets. Seen at South Park roundabout heading up towards the hill to the Waddington/Bracebridge Heath area. Anyone on here?
  4. Cheers pal! Was actually gonna ask if you had yours laying around, but its cool, I'll hold out until another shows up!
  5. Not the best picture, but it does the job. It isn't really that bad in hindsight, I think I was just pissed off at myself for doing it in the first place. And to be fair, that side of the bumper had a lot of small scuffs anyway, so it isn't as though its a massive setback. Hell, it gives me more of a reason to buy a Glanza bumper instead! Cheers about the sticker, even though that one is just a paper cut out being held on by Blu-Tack. Seems stupid, but I did it to test whether or not I liked the look of it on there, which I do, so I might be getting a real one in the near future.
  6. Quick 'beauty shot' I took whilst out and about. And yes, the Mid Night 'decal' is just a cutout. Also have some good and bad news. Good: College is done! No more exams or anything ever! Which means my little nugget here will be getting some love. Might spray the front grill black first, but I'm not sure. Opinions? Bad: I scraped my rear bumper after trying to reverse into my garage. And it is very noticeable. There's definitely way worse damaged panels out there, but still frustrated at both the damage and myself. Might post a pic later or something.
  7. 'Supdates! Firstly, my UKSO stickers are here! And my strut brace has arrived too! Will be sprayed back to black at some point in the future (still got this weeks exams), but I actually really like it with the blue and might keep it like that. Actually amazed at how much difference it makes; I was guessing it would only really help on very tight bends, but you can feel the difference even on slight curves. Very impressed. Big thanks to Glanza-Ben for sending and packaging it so well!
  8. Bought a factory strut brace off of him. Arrived really quickly after being dispatched, was well packaged and in great condition. It was my first time buying something from someone off the forums as well, and he was really helpful with how it all worked! Definitely would buy from again!
  9. http://forums.mighty...thread.php?2820 This guy managed to put some in his 5-door (same car UKSO's Facebook page posted recently), so it can be done. Since Paseos are based on Starlets anyway, I'd assume the mounting points and the rails would be the exact same, but I don't know for sure though.
  10. I reckon they're front and rear strut braces or ARBs, and the pictures been cropped and blurred.
  11. Cheers pal! Good to hear about the strut brace. I wanted a really cheap way of improving the handling without going down the route of lowered springs or better tyres, so I thought a strut brace was a good, subtle way of doing it! I'll know for sure in a few weeks!
  12. Thought I'd give this a quick update. The biggest news is that I've got a factory GT Turbo/Glanza strut brace from Glanza-Ben on its way! Not sure how well it will improve handling, but either way, it will look good in my engine bay and hopefully make it less like a boat on roundabouts! Other small updates are that the holes in the door are patched up, and that nearly all the glue from the bump strips are gone! Also got a hold of some paint to freshen up my mirror mounts, front and rear wipers as well as my scuttle panel. I've got exams for the next two weeks, so any progress on my car will
  13. Personally not the thing I'd do myself, but even so, its still pretty tough looking in its own way! Especially for a cheap little runaround! I don't get all the hate; its no different to people doing similar things to Civics and MX-5s which get loads of cred for it. Whichever way you spin it, it is different from the norm, you have to give it that!
  14. The S and V model names don't seem to mean anything from what I can tell, other than being an easy way of separating N/A and turbo variants. They were used on a lot of other Jap-spec Toyotas from the early to late 90s in the same way. The Chaser Tourer S (N/A) and Tourer V (turbo) are another example. Toyota just seemed to like using letters to separate the trim levels. IIRC, the JDM Vitz came in F (base), U (European-spec) and then the RS, but I don't know that for sure.
  15. That sucks man, it had potential. That said, I can totally understand why and would easily do the same! Chin up, hopefully you'll be a lot luckier in your next project!
  16. Damn it, I need to stop looking at threads filled with optional extras, its making me jealous. Beautiful car either way man! Keep it up!
  17. Nice starter pal, wish I'd waited for a decent silver one to be fair.
  18. Liking it so far pal, the simple stuff is always the best! Lucky to find one with clean, unfaded paint too!
  19. I was thinking of painting them red at one point, just because I was bricking it about getting those screws off. Bit surprised how easily the strips came off using nothing but sunlight, haha. And the strips are in the bin I'm afraid. Personally I really like it without them - its a simple and free update, and looks cleaner to me. Well, it will do when the glue is gone! The wheel trims aren't bad from a distance, and to be fair, they've all been kerbed quite badly at some point, so its not a huge issue I guess. Still holding out for Yaris T-Sport wheels, but I'm not really sure they'd fill th
  20. Today was nice and sunny, so I decided to give my car a good wash and break out the compound polish to bring back the red shine! As I was polishing it, I noticed the little bump strips on the doors had come slightly loose - keep in mind that the car is in direct sunlight and its fairly warm - so I tried to to stick it back in place and... it fell off. I'm guessing the glue had become flexible and peeled it away slightly. This was great news though, because now I finally had a reason to get around to taking them all off and making it look heaps better! Most of the glue is still there, so I nee
  21. Haha! Well at least rare parts are in good hands I suppose.
  22. That's interesting, because wind deflectors are something I've wanted since I bought the car yet never come across them. I was kind of worried I'd have to either source some from a 5-door Reflect or just get a set of front Team Heko ones and leave the back doors without them (which, ideally, I don't want). I've had a look at the '98 UK brochure on the wiki, but there isn't an options list, besides mentioning the spoiler, locking wheel nuts and alloys as options.
  23. Yeah, I figured there wouldn't be anything too crazy, just thought it would be worth a shout though. Probably mixed the passenger airbag up with the LHD models, since they're in the manual as well. Thanks for the heads up!
  24. Wasn't sure where else to ask this. Been inspired by Steve GT's OEM build and just wanted to know what optional extras were available to UK-spec Starlets. I know the small lip spoiler, as well as the TTE backbox and wing were either optional or dealer-fitted extras. My manual has a section for ABS, passenger airbag (I think, can't quite remember), air conditioning and a double din tape/CD player, so plainly they were either standard on some models or options, but I'm assuming theres more. Thanks for any help in advance!
