Ah I get you now. Not sure on colour yet, have until October to decide
  2. Great build mate reminds me alot of mine :) personally id stay well away from getting your wheels diamomd cut as they dont last laquer isnt designed to stick to bare metal hence why you see so many corroded and manky looking polished wheels, the only other way is to not laquer them and keep them waxed all the time lol

There's a place in Dublin that does them but costs 500 euro. Now for that price I'll be asking them what I'm getting for my money

  3. Hi guys, have been a member of the site for some time now but have only gotten young to doing a progress blog now so here it is.

Back in September 2013 I got my first car(starlet) and had the intention of doing a rep from the start. The shell was very clean with minor scratches but was 100% rust free having roughly 140 000kms on the clocks.

First on the agenda was cam belt, oil and oil filter change. After that the horrid side strips came off.

Then I got the Glanza kit and fitted it including headlights. The side skirts are there just no point putting them on to take them off again for paint

Got bored one day so decided to clean the cam cover. A load of corrosion had built up and it was pure nasty looking so I whipped it off and went at it with a wire brush and some brasso afterwards came out looking good

Next came the interior. Over a period of time I got the 98 spec leather wheel in mint condition (got it cheap which is always a bonus), Mitsubishi FTO front seats-these seats are very good perfect balance between comfort and 'bucket style'-, Glanza clocks which I wrapped the bit around the dials in carbon, skunk 2 gear knob, cup holders, Glanza rear seats and soon going in 2 gauge pillar pod post-12017-0-52747600-1437008946_thumb.jpost-12017-0-21000700-1437008978_thumb.jpost-12017-0-34137700-1437009015_thumb.jpost-12017-0-40341900-1437009066_thumb.j

For the exterior I had always wanted a livesports spoiler that's currently in the making, I got the 98 spec bubble lights in mint condition from a very good friend of mine, clear indicators, tinted the fogs yellow(still to be wired) and even though the car is a 98 reg I've decided to keep the pre-facelift bumper and will be getting the oem lip to finish it off. Oh, and I also got an 'S' bonnet as i feel they look a lot better

Got some jam style eyelids, still unsure wether or not to keep them, what's people's opinions ?post-12017-0-85102200-1437009469_thumb.j

Next came the suspension, rear axle and brakes. I stone chipped the Glanza axle and painted the callipers. No red/green/yellow here, kept with a modest silver haha(front carriers still need painting). Also put the Glanza disks on the front

The job that gave me the most satisfaction was lowering it on springs. I went for a 40mm drop all round. In my opinion it sits perfectly with the wheels I gotpost-12017-0-88479000-1437009742_thumb.j

These are the wheels, paid 130 for them and have no idea what they are only the fitment (any help appreciated haha) plan is to get them diamond cut as they were previously and wrap them in toyo proxes t1-r'spost-12017-0-34825300-1437009840_thumb.jpost-12017-0-18058500-1437009895_thumb.j

You may notice in the pics the bodywork looks tatty that's only because bodywork is being done over the summer to be painted in October. Grey primer is the base for block sanding a fresh layer will be applied before paint a long with high build primer. Colour still undecided

A few things I got inbetween that I forgot to mention were oem wind deflectors, a few dress up items supplied by 'The JDM Vault' here in Ireland , front strut brace that I carbon wrapped and a sound systempost-12017-0-25742600-1437010072_thumb.jpost-12017-0-14572600-1437010162_thumb.jpost-12017-0-04125600-1437010198_thumb.jpost-12017-0-89922800-1437010227_thumb.jpost-12017-0-76557500-1437010264_thumb.j

And that brings us to today where the piggy bank has ran dry and there's still loads to do. I will be posting more updates in good time. post-12017-0-00414400-1437010344_thumb.j

Sorry if a few pics came out sideways they weren't intended to be like that

  4. Unfortunately I can't find how to upload from my phone but If I was to explain it, 1 side has the fto rail with the original mounting bracket and the other side has the fto rail mounted on the original rail. At the moment it sits at the same height as the standard but wanted it lower for the bucket seat feel. I hope this made sence as it is quite long haha

  5. I have 2 fto seats and want to put them in my ep91. At the moment I have the passenger side in as a test but it sits quite high because I mounted them on the original rails. Has anyone any suggestions on how I can get them to sit lower ? Thanks in advance
