G6 gearbox on average sell for around 120-160 depending on condition and mileage for the 1.3 g6 box which is a straight fit , 1.6 g6 box needs to be modified to fit.

Also are all the gears work ok? Any crunches etc?

I've tried to search around for prices and only one i could find was from TGTT and that was £250. No idea on mileage, I've never fitted it so I can't vouch for how it performs, but it was bought from a running GT and I'm 95% sure he said it's 100% fine.

Is it a 1.3 g6 gearbox or 1.6? Not interested but will be more difficult to mount a 1.6 G6 gearbox

No idea mate, bought it off a guy who had it in his GT, it's the G6 box so just straight swap?

Would've had the 6 speed if you wern't at the other end of the country :/

That will cause boost creep the cracks in the waste gate.

Ahh that's what I thought, thanks for the input guys. Just gonna have to keep looking to see why it's not making any boost

Also he just told me theres oil inside his intercooler piping, would that be a problem? I'm under the impression that a bit of oil is fine in the pipework or am I completely wrong?

It's my friends, his car is not making any boost what so ever. He has checked most stuff and decided to check the turbo and asked if this was the cause of no boost :\

There is a fuel regulator behind the glove box on a GT. My car died when I first got it and would only start sometimes, after changing the pump and fucking around for hours. We put in a new wire between the fuel reg and the pump and this sorted it out straight away

Update

Well, I'm no closer to finding the issue.

Removed the EMB, set the timing back to 8-10 degrees, fitted stock injectors and it's still got the same lag/over boosting issue.

The first problem I need to fix is the boost control. I've removed the TiAL waste gate and took the car for a run, it still makes 0.25 bar of boost. I believe it should make no boost at all so that rules out a faulty waste gate. Removed the turbo, everything looks fine and the waste gate penny flap is welded shut with no visible leaks.

Next step is possibly try a different manifold set up as the old ram horn kit was working and boosting perfectly!

Have you 100% ruled out the AVCR then? I know it's a great unit, but it's still I thought?

Yeah its a bell that goes off when you get to 105kmph, or 105mph if you have a speedo converter.

Its a JDM option/standard on some cars.
