Just wondering if anyone on here is running a aeroquip oil return on there starlets? Got a few friends that run them on high horsepower cars and they've never had a issue. Just wondering where people have got them from?
Cheers
Liam

Welcome! I'll look out for you I'm a fellow notts member too!

If it's overboosted at some point then that's probably where the issue lies buddy.

Welcome mate, first gt was one of my favourites back in the day.

That's failed due to overspeed mate, bascially something has made the turbo work to hard, usually caused by faulty intercooler and all pipework, any boost control systems, ecu faults or faulty remaps.

This is an amazing build mate! Looks immense

Ah, I'll have to keep you in mind Liam. Still new to the forum so I'm not clued up yet.
Plus my turbo has no play in it, but the owner before me was running it without a filter for god knows how long so no idea how long it will last. To be honest I wouldn't replace it with a CT9 anyway.
Liam, how much would a TD04L be to rebuilt. I believe that is the common upgrade for these motors isn't it? Not that I own one yet, but If I find a cheap one on eBay then I'll send it your way to be rebuilt and sit in the cupboard till the fateful day when the CT9 goes lmao!
Exactly the same price for a TD04 rebuild my man!

Amazing mate!

The crack will only get worse over time but it won't cause any issues and it'll be a long time before it does cause you any issues. Finding a good Ct9 housing is always a option but they are mega rare, and obsolete from manufacture so cannot get new ones
As for additional cost of welding, I usually include it in the price of a rebuild as it's not much more work
For any examples of our work and to see what it'll come back like please like our page on Facebook @ midland turbo there's plenty of pics on there of previous builds.

From a guy on eBay who made them to order I bought two, but now he's disappeared

I doubt it'll be a problem with a HKS actuator but you never know!

We offer full free courier services to and from buddy. A rebuild is £188.70 inc vat mate obviously the price increases if we have to replace and CHRA parts like compressor wheel/turbine wheel etc etc. They'll be a 2 year warranty with any work we do. Don't worry about the crack all CT9s are cracked around the penny aslong as it's not where the turbine wheel runs you'll be okay.

Got a few friends with big spec Evos that run screamers no issues at donington/cadwell etc etc. However I'm 90% sure i would get black flagged at donington as the fly by test is on the main straight. Best bet would be to route it back into the exhaust or run a baffled screamer

What actuator are you running?
-
awesome! MG autos is local to me, decent lads up there

They all crack like that! Have to replace everyone I rebuild.

Dude you are better off getting your one rebuilt at midlands turbos, juat that theres basically none about anymore that are in good nick . there all old and worn units.
Just trying to hwlp as I have bought a few knackered ones and for the price of them you can get a turbo with a new warranty etc.
Best of luck matey
Cheers for bigging us up mate!!

Dude theres not much point, those rebuild kits are made of cheese and dont work, best contacting liam d on here at midlands turbos.
he can sort out a rebuild and you get a warranty.
Honestly mate dont waste ure time with kits.been there done it
Thanks for mentioning me buddy!
In all honesty I wouldn't bother doing it yourself unless you're 100% sure with what you are doing I've seen so many be built wrong it's unreal. And a turbo is quite a major component of the engine so I wouldn't risk doing It wrong.
