Hi guys, After finally getting an insurance quote that is reasonable im looking for a relatively standard glanza v. I don't mind if the car needs a bit of paintwork but I would like one that is mechanically sound and has MOT I am based in essex so would like something relatively close although I will travel for the right car. Hi guys! Im looking to jump into the starlet ownership and am after a relatively standard glanza v. I don't mind a few mods like exhausts,fmic ,wheels etc. Im looking for one with up to 100k Miles, a good amount of service history and at least 6 months MOT. I am based in Essex and am willing to travel for up to 2 hours each way. You guys are doing a good job at convincing me that i only need the one car! Really im looking for 200bhp on standard internals either from a ct9 hybrid/td04 is there any accompanying mods that i should look at to really help me maximize the reliability? Thanks for the help!

Thanks a lot for your input guys! I believe the starlet could probably manage it quite easily but being in the IT industry I do visit quite a lot of clients in different places. For example i sometimes end up in brighton or southampton and although the starlet isn't much older than the fiesta im not sure I would want to arrive in a very loud in your face car. Also its whether modified insurers allow business insurance as well because I would need it for travelling about

Hi guys, Im only a few month away from buying my first Glanza V and im really looking forward to buying it! Currently im just driving a mk5 fiesta zetec s to and from work which is around a 40 mile round trip. I decided that is probably to far for a Glanza everyday so will be putting it in the garage and driving it at weekends. At the time of purchasing the car i'll be 20 and have 2 years no claims. What I was looking to do is put the Glanza v and the fiesta on the same policy but have around a 3000 mile limit on the Glanza and 12000 on my fiesta . I was just wondering if anyon

I myself am looking at buying a starlet hence im on here finding out about them before i purchase one! I only live in danbury so not far from chelmsford so if i get one i'll more than happily come out and about

Saw/Heard you at around 1:30Pm today going past the big block of flats in melbourne. Had a spoiler in the middle of the boot, car was black sounded really good.

Yep I suppose I'll just have to take my time which is something I was planning on doing anyway. If something appears and its not great I'm in no rush to buy it so will happily leave it alone. My Dad is a mechanic so i'm sure he will have an input plus everything I've picked up from being on here in the last 4 months!

Yeah this is what i'm worried about mainly. Could I perhaps carry out a compression test before buying? May help a bit. Obviously oil changes, servicing etc would need to be documented for me to buy it anyway but that doesn't mean the engine hasn't been abused

Yeah could sense he was a shady character and the forums confirmed it. Really Im looking to chase 200ish BHP from either ct9 hybrid/Td04. I suppose the first step would be to ensure engine health is at its best and then go from there. Thanks

Hi guys, I have been a member on here for quite a few months and am yet to purchase a starlet. I was close to buying one and found out it was some slipper wearing scammer that I'm glad I avoided. Since then I have spent ages reading thread after thread and still haven't been able to commit to buying one. Currently I am used to messing around with N/A cars pumaed fiestas and hondas mainly. Thus im not to clued up on the turbo side of things such as the boost controllers, wastegates etc.. My plan is to buy a starlet in the summer and carry out all the reliability mods i can a

Thanks for the advice guys! Im not looking for bundles of power! The car im looking at already has two preloaded boost settings one low one just above normal i think. Should be suitable for changing when i drive to work as well as having a bit of a blast!
