    Tax: N/A
    MOT: 21/12/16

    Description:
I'd like to swap my R for a Glanza, my insurance is messing me around with it.

It's a 2006 MK1 Cupra R, Full service history, all stock bar some Forge motorsport hoses. It's the 225bhp BAM engine.

Price: £4000, or swap for a stockish Glanza

  2. Daily'd my gt for ages, wasn't too bad on fuel, my main problem was the exhaust noise getting complaints as I leave for work at half 5 in the morning aha!

And since messing with it its become a bit unreliable these days

When it was basically stock it was a brilliant daily

Loving all these responses. Better get my Cupra R up for sale.

  3. Yeah I've got a white V with bronze rotas, haven't got blue mud flaps though mate so I dunno if there could be someone else around here with a Glanza

    Thatcham way?

But yeah, id love to meet up and talk starlet one night if you're around.

  4. Cheers for all the responses guys, looks positive! Yeah, would just be a CT9 car, I already have my summer\weekend toy, I just want something fun to get to work in too!

Hmm not too sure about driving a Glanza in the winter. I use the V as a daily in the summer and I've got an NA as my winter daily. I'm in Newbury too mate so if you ever wanna go out for a drive just let me know.

White V with bronze rotas and blue mud flaps?
  5. (Excuse me if I've posted this in the wrong section)

Hi, I had a GT for a while last year, and regret selling it.

I've just been mugged off insuring my Cupra R so I've instantly come back to this here forum...

Who here drives a turbocharged starlet everyday, and what are your experiences of it? It would be stock, or as close to stock as possible.

And yes, driven in the winter!!

  6. Some good tyres and decent brakes is a must for any trackday regardless of how experienced you are.

If you are generally quite heavy on the brakes, you'll find the Redstuff with fade, Yellowstuff might be the better option, but that said I think all EBC gear is shite. Ferodo DS2500 if you want a fast road/ trackday pad, or if you want some serious stopping power then some carbon pads like Carbotech etc. They are more expensive though.

First time out, go and enjoy yourself, then you'll soon figure what you would like to change to the car to make it more confidence insipiring.

A little tip though. When you start feeling like you're getting good/mastering the track and the car. Come back to the pits and take a half hour breather, when you start getting too confident that's when mistakes happen, and unfortunately they inevitably do.

    Great advice thank you.

As for taking spare wheels with tires on, what do you think?

Edit: I've just noticed the glaring typo in the title - Whoops!

  7. '94 Starlet GT turbo. Crappy tires daily, and brake fluid and oil should be changed next week. I won't push it as it's my first time but I won't completely baby it!

I'll have my dad with me who used to be a racing driver, I should have plenty of tution.

    Thanks for the reply.

  8. Hello, I've been asked to come on a track day with another forum, and I'd love to give it a go. I'd like some advice however. Should I bring another set of wheels with me, with a set of tires on them just for the track? Brake pads, do I need something like red stuff to stop them fading? Any other advise would be greatly appreciated. My car is pretty much standard.
