SR17 replied to Turkish91's topic in Other Motors Progress Blogs
Looks sweet mate, loved it when I saw her on pistonheads before you got it Gutted about it being down though , bet she absolutly flew!!! When you hoping to have her up and running again? (You'l be happy to know the SR will be on the road full time end of the month if my bro gets his ass into gear and passes!) adam -
hahaha the funniest advert in the world!! what a legend
-
Sounds like a better plan mate:) You'll find a nice one at a good price in no time adam
-
2k seems pretty cheap, probs going to have something pretty wrong with it and he wants to get it off his hands asap!
-
Some cases yess but I bought a car off a mechanic who seemed like a nice, genuine guy, had loads of receipts, had his own garage and seemed all good. Didnt think anything was wrong with the car so purchased it, only to find out a day or so later it was pretty nakered and he just covered up the problems to get it sold.

fooking loving that!!! awesome!
-
Agreed with that. Can never tell what idiot has had a car before you , so always take a chance when buying any used car!

I own both a starlet sr and a saxo vtr at the mo, having previously had another SR and a hybrid glanza Saxo = Fun whilst they are working and the VTR goes alright. Very good handling on mine, way better than my SR. Mine is an 03 and already had both driveshafts done and im always thinking to myself what is going to go wrong next Starlet SR - MY LOVE very reliable, ok the sr isnt the quickest thing in the world, but i love driving it and the engine is soo willing and goes alright when being reved! Used them for trackdays and was not shown up at all by cars with waaay more power a

MUUH i really do want one haha Going to take a couple of months till may do see if i can find a nice one. cheers guys for setting me straight once again ;)
-
Hmm thats pretty good then dude! Getting tempted more I look into it adam
-
haha , thats my worry. NO job, poor student, boost, and super unleaded at 140.9 = BAD IDEA ;) ???
-
My old Glanza was better than expected. I managed to get 32-36 MPG driving steady and that was with a hybrid and loads of other mods. What you recon a pretty standard GT would be able to manage day-to-day? 36ish??
-
Been having another look around. Loooking at all sorts of cars but i do really miss not having a starlet!!! Think its fair to say i have a BIG thing for them haha Got a new quote on a GT today when i get my 3 years NCB for £885! Soo thats thrown another problem into the mix! GT is do-able, but concerned with running costs ;) adam

I really like your yaris! Been looking at them recently and am tempted!! Would have it just like yours! glanza is mint also...... you lucky man! adam
-
Where did you get yours from Luke? I bought some from toyota with my first SR and they were like £60, maybe more if i remember correctly? cheers dude
-
Think that would be my dream car, sounds incredible..... must be sooo much fun. How easy he could get the back out, serious power!!
-
that one in the link is really smart! exactly how i'd have one
-
any ideas how much the 82 would go for out of interest?? cheers adam
-
that is very impressive geo fair play would love your car!
-
sounds like a right mightmare!!
-
Ive also been looking at mx-5 mk1's. I think they would make a good little reliable car. the 1.6's arent the quickest things on earth, but would feel pretty nippy and very good fun.
-
thats what im thinking mate for a year, then when im 21 planning on scoooby after uni for a treat
-
Insurance is still a bit too steep on a GT Otherwise I would have one straight away!
-
Been looking at ignis sports and yaris t-sports, but they are cost a bit too much All civics seem to have done over 80/90/100,000 miles!
