Depends what you want from the car and how you want to drive it.

5E's dont rev as nicely as a 4E becasuse of the longer stroke. Yes youll gain a little torque but that can easily be worked around on a 4E with the correct setup.

If youre gonna spend £2500-£3000 building a 5E, then put a £50 TD05 on it, you are better saving your money and spending that on a suitable turbo setup for your 4E.

It’s going to be a fast road setup, don’t really plan on tracking it, my engine is standard internals and quite high mileage. I heard about them not revving as nicely but do like the sound of a bit more off boost torque. I think either way I go it will be a hybrid TD04 setup aiming for high 200. Cheers for the replies

  2. Took the 5 hour drive up to TD and had the car mapped to 1 bar on EMU with some 450cc injectors and all went very smoothly. Now the car will be sat for a while so I can tidy up the engine bay a bit and fix some small bits. 097DFAA8-5BDD-465A-8E33-80810D950229.thumb.jpeg.052e2786a6f52ecfee4443ad44422478.jpegNot bad for the cheap setup on the car, the lads up at TD were great as well

Come a long way since I last saw it dude :)

Still enjoying it? Any more plans?

Thanks, I’m enjoying it even more now it isn’t my daily. Hoping to get a top mount manifold next, coilovers and rear ARB but when the engine goes pop it’ll get forged. It’s never ending...

Im pretty curious to the kemso 340 fuel pump. Some say you really need an fuel pressure regulator because of the power it has. sytec fuel pumps 255 are also good but noisy

Honestly it been great and I've had it in for 7 months now, I have an adjustable regulator but its getting plenty of fuel even on standard pressure

It's all down to personal preference imo they all have good and bad reviews.

I personaly run a spec unsprung 6 puk with a light weight flywheel been ok for me appart from having to have a bit of the clutch cover taken off so it didn't make contact with the bell housing. also depends on your budget aswell.

    Cheers nick

Yeah that’s the thing, I was looking at Competition clutch and then saw that a lot of people have had problems and I want to go get my car mapped so I don’t want any issues

Just remember your only on 0.4 bar not much extra feuling is needed unrill its spooling propperly

Reach 11 s between 4 and 5  try fitting @ . 8 bbar spring might be better for feuling as most run just under fc with h no issue like u have

Okay cheers I’ll try that later, I took off the FPR and fuelling was much better

you need to be way more specific mate 13.5 will be to 4000rpm ( low boost )  almost tdo4 wont be on full boost past 4500 rpm expect 11.5 / 11.9

what gauge have you  ( afr )

I didn’t really go through the Rev range too much, bit worried about it being too lean, I’ll have another drive tomorrow with the stock regulator and it’s an AEM wideband

only do your runs in 3rd

dont worry about the other gears  if you nail 3rd al will be fine

just refit the stockk fpr mate untill you get this sorted

Okay so if I fit the stock fpr on again, I was seeing 13.5 afr ok boost in 3rd, isn’t that still too lean?
