the limitations are mainly me related I should have more faith in the car i really wish I could have got an instructor laps but m25

Because I have spent a lot of time making her safe and not driving her I got her up to 150kph probably more on straights and battered it out of corners jelly 170kph on the straight I saw.

Thanks to Jellybaby for being there in emergencies which didn’t happen, and for helping me collect parts on the way home at a horrific time of night!

He did a bit of graft though :thumbsup:I Hope you had a good day mate you were much better on track than me (for now).

thanks to Jay-c for waiting up and allowing me to collect all the parts at a horrific time of night sorry about the banking stuff it was a pain but it got sorted I was exhausted.

    Yesterday’s time scale was bonkers

motorway 75miles accident happened 30 mins after we went through that meant instructors could not arrive

drive brands hatch Indy give it what we could and we were both pleasantly surprised

stopped in traffic for 2 hours this cost more in petrol than the bloody track day still 2 hours to get home after traffic

She then became what she started as a van my little yellow iveco daily she’s done me proud.

Thats about 1third of the stuff picked up on the way home thanks jelly you got a silly amount of my stuff in your garage, mate we need a plan I know but I need a day of rest.

(not much I can post on videoes sorry forgot to read instruction manual)

    why what’s happened?

  2. Hi not sure if you have been to an open track event yet I advise the following:

get sound tested ASAP and into registration to sign up for tuition if you want it.

this all went a bit tits up at brands due to a massive accident on m25 southbound is screwed for 2 days

Wish I could join you but am away again

  3. Ok update again and a big thanks to jelly baby he sorted my tyres out today looking sweet and feeling good!

She’s still working well and about 150 miles in 3 days done, not a real trek but she feels healthy and reasonably solid big test tomorrow! Go and pick up the new bits on the way home from brands hatch:thumbsup:

  4. Well new updates :yahoo:

ok 1st Jae may not happen for me this year because I got busy may work out cheaper to write off the ticket cost. :cray:

i went for a bit of a drive down to Rayleigh and she’s a strange lil beast, engine light came on but the gear box feels much better.

engine light went off and didn’t come back on,

oh and she’s de restricted. At 180kph she’s still pulling in 6th gear:D

jay-c your a saint mate it was a pleasure to meet you and jelly it was good to see you again mate

hmm I will learn kph to mph as I am clueless not a great idea in an average speed limit

I will try for JAE  though

  5. Ok I said I wouldn't post but I took lots of photos and have to return some parts :cray: It was all going so well too.

Thanks Jelly for putting up with me this morning mate.

Lots to unwrap I think I broke the camera housing though shouldn't have tried the whiskey then tried putting it all together at 1 am well we live and learn.

After a good nights sleep I tried again.

Rotor thingy isn't meant to look like this this apparently.

This filter was a bit of a guess perfect fit didn't realise they were meant to be that shade of green.

Also found out why the air con doesn't work GBND4751.thumb.JPG.331a7b725d8d56b43a53e99bac8b7039.JPG

    new Ht Leads too

    IMG_2300.thumb.JPG.23f1acf0adef6c2d4e4591ffe80d3eaa.JPG

Not a fan of the gear knob the gator doesn't fit properly now it is shiny though

    IMG_2270.thumb.JPG.131f151b90f7d6e555dcd0ce1d240ef7.JPG

The jump leads did there magic and time for someone to polish a turd bird decided to give me leaving present and the paint on the roof is bubbling now really need a lock up sooner rather than later and certainly before a Respray.

    IMG_2299.thumb.JPG.b174fd82b8d32ba3eaecbc56beb6c034.JPG

All done before 11am If anyone knows the part number for Glanza wind deflectors let me know please.

Oh and lots more coming soon.

  6. Heres a progress update I prepared before I did it because I hate my computer when I get back home for the first 2 weeks after 28 days in front of a PC

So the next 10 days the normal return home clean and charge, praying the new leads fit my power pack courtesy of Amazon, lots of unwrapping and hope my pre planning has worked and everything has been delivered and its all correct I had a rethink on seats and harnesses for now more on that later.

Some of the little stuff will be fitted immediately don't expect pictures.

Here's a sneak peak of something I know is waiting for me

That's a beautiful tread pattern. Thanks Jelly Baby, mate you saved me a lot of hassle with sourcing these and thanks in advance for fitting them.

They get fitted on 27th This really is also the furthest I will have ever driven her from my house and the furthest she has been under her own steam legally since she was put on the boat from Japan. Its about 19 miles each way to Colchester (I have got AA Cover just in case but not for the drive to Colchester).

This will be the first time I have even seen under her properly in 10 months of ownership, other people have and assured me its in good condition but I was never able to be there when it was off the ground.

I will measure up for the breaks using the templates Keri from WMS sent me.

    592467869_275mmCaliper.thumb.JPG.1b79dc351eb1eb29cca8a3017db09c10.JPG

That's not to scale he sent me scaled ones for the break types I am interested in.

At the same time I will check out what sort of suspension she has on because I know its not standard but cant find it any where even on RHD Japan from the tiny part I can see its probably just after market shocks and springs from the last decade some time.

All of this for the shake down at Brands Hatch Indy Circuit to see what comes loose, falls off, ,leaks or explodes on the 28th (This is why I have the AA cover). So the 150 mile round trip and 4 hours at the track the very next day is going to be a real test of how the maintenance and repairs have really gone! Jelly Baby is kindly coming with me with his tools and helping me out. This is open pit so no lap times will be recorded I may try recording it we will see on my performance if it gets shared.

Assuming she survives and gets back without AA assistance. I will give her as good a clean as I can before JAE she's no show car but I will make a token effort for the club. This will be the first time I have done any more than getting a drive through car wash on a car myself. I used to pay for proper Valets on my old Alpina but not worth it for Emoji (yet).

Then its fingers crossed I can blag some good deals at JAE and get home safely again.

If I arrive J.A.E in the BMW you know it didn't go well at the track. If I arrive on an AA truck I survived brands hatch but did not make it to J.A.E. If I am walking the BMW is buggered too, I look forward to seeing some of you and your cars on the 31st with or without Emoji but definitely with a beer in my hand a tale or 2.  Wish me  luck any tips are appreciated.:drinks:

  7. Haha that’s great mate I hope he’s busy last I heard he was off to oz for a short job  but that was October/November last year our industry is very very small starlet owners groups is almost as small  it was a reasonably safe bet it’s even smaller on Mauritius. He was on the same boat as me when I found out I was getting my starlet and he mentioned you out in turkey last year.
