okstilltryingThanks jay I really am naive when it comes to this stuff I can drive had advanced driving courses etc for places like Iraq etc (that was fun had to do jay turns reverse up around courses being chased etc) but when it comes to modifying stuff I am absolutely clueless.

the quote was definitely not a blow over any colour I wanted was the option and it was me doing all the prep work rolled off a trailer. if anyone wants to speak to them it’s ipswich vehicle refinishers if you need an interpreter I can help :D

well after all the fun yesterday totally forgot I have loads of new toys turning up today i think from tuning developments

    Anti lift kit

    distributor cap

    rotor arm

    22mm front arb

Still on the shopping list is well everything else apart from a rear arb which is currently in the boot of my bmw could use a spare set of wheels if anyone has some knocking about and any tips on what to do with my rear window wiper it’s a waste of space and looks buggered and it’s additional weight

got none of it yesterday but came today apart from distributor cap and 22mm front arb I am still hanging from last night so not fussed

Donnington is unlikely I am not driving up tonight we will see about tomorrow may drag my lazy ass up there

3 days running since 2012 so oil check and the wheel aligment needs to be looked at but she is quick and she has served me well  but lots to do

Hahahahaha you’re not naive dude, just learning!

A blow over is when you paint the outer bodywork, door shuts, boot shut with the same colour as the car is already. Sometimes a colour change can be done but the inside of the car and engine bay will remain the original colour.

I know the feeling mate, I’m having to granny my V around as she needs mapping and I don’t really wanna put my foot down until it’s done!

Mother issue I’m having is finding the time to fit the new turbo (old one has blown the seal so I get a smoke screen on boost, which is why it wasn’t mapped before!)

    CANT BLOODY WAIT!

    PS Emoji is becoming epic!

  3. Lol I don’t even know what a blow over is I am naive as can be on most of this especially the body work I will look at body work for aero dynamics and down force for handling if power to weight ratio dictates

I just want to drive her and race her! Honestly I appreciate any feed back I get and I do take it on board but emoji if she is red green yellow blue or white won’t be a show car ever.

The next things I need are spare set of wheels and a lot of time learning how to drive her

the person I got the quote from At the 2k I can give you a number for if you want it but that’s a price gutted trailer dropped off etc

It depends where you live, the amount of paint shops in the local areas, how much work they have etc. 2k is a fair price for a blow over!

Well he could have fed me full of bs but he said don’t bother if you wanna race it you will also need new panels bumpers etc so better to save it for maintenance, parts and tyres he did himself out of a job he could have just said yep 2k which given how tired I am I may have said yes.

That was literally a rolling shell quote dash out seats out engine out

  5. Well today was the day 10 months of maybes ifs and buts but finally I drove her...

She was not the cleanest when I got home after the road got resurfaced

I feel the cobwebs added to the moment

She looked much better with 2 added extras courtesy of paper work from DVLA and 30 seconds with a hose

After a drive she needed a sit in the shade i needed some breakfast

After a quote for a paint job (£2k Fuck that for a track car) I got her a wash instead £6 sacrilege I know but she's never going to a show and shine event

to toast the first time she has been on British roads since 2012 I bought her a friend from duty free which I am about to enjoy

now the fun begins emoji is far from perfect lots to do but she's road legal cheers all

Remember seeing this car up for sale around 3 yrs back at a dealers, and stating 6speed gearbox.

Some weird shit going on with it, never got registered from dealers then about 6 months after was back up for sale privately but same seller.

Definitely same car yellow outside red inside same alloys.

Like learning to drive her the gear box when I test shifted it after reading mart1's post above felt very different I noticed 2nd and 3rd were a bit dificult to find and shes a bitch to get in reverse but I put that down to the age and potentially the need for a new gear box. When I tested it to see about the  speed box I realized the gears the gears are not set up in a standard H type fashion they shift Diagonally which is a first for me. I also found the thread on here about having a 6 speed in a standard Starlet double clutching and rev matching which is something I have never had to deal with before.

So the list is shorter now but not by much still lots to do before pretty and I have more and more parts in the shed waiting to be fitted. Also some basic maintenance stuff

Oh I think I decided on a name and it is going to be Emoji
