Agreed £700 sounds about right for the work described. The ME221 does sound good, but if you are not going to use 90% of the features then there is nothing wrong with Piggyback.

If you really are bothered, go get a Haltech ECU for £1200 and use that. Best thing about the Haltech is that once you are done, you can remove it and sell it or use it on your next project car. Same with Piggyback in fact. Where as the ME221 system is tied to the car.

Yeah or a link, I just couldn't be bothered with the hardwiring or paying £400/making a custom loom.

Yeah it’s tuning developments in Warrington, mike and nick are good guys I’m really happy with the car, charged me £699 to supply fit and map greddy emanage blue and 3 bar map sensor, some fabrication work and a k&n air filter

Wow hell fire, £700 for a piggyback ecu in 2020.

I payed £600 for a brand new ME221 Gen2 - Its hasn't been a quick pnp few little mods on the way but its far better then a piggyback. Just a few more sensors and ill be booking mapping.

So shook about that price but maybe that's just my tight arse haha, you can pick emb up for about £150 all in and its quick simple to fit.

After all its each to there own and the build it looking nice, I did want a black glanza preferably but ended up with white (every time lol)

    Keep it up :)

  3. So as i have ME221 i thought i would take advantage of doing the COP conversion. I know i'm not going to partially need it right now but i feel now is a good time especially for future proofing along with removing all the potential issues what can happen with the ht leads dizzy etc. it will defiantly promote reliability and after all with be a stronger spark. Not to mention how much better it looks on the engine bay.

Its will also be cheaper to do this then a ignition overhaul as i have most of the materials from work (industrial electrician). Up to now its cost me £40 for 4 k20 coils £13 for k20 connectors, ive made the harness myself and a friend will weld the rocker cover. So im on with that this week.

Bit of a mock up for the harness to be finished this week :)

  4. So i have fitted some new injectors to the Glanza over lock down, i got them from CP fuel injection. I went for Bosch EV14 630cc, i repined the new plugs into the factory harness, shes starting to pull together now, few sensors and be ready for mapping :)

  5. Update -

So the ME221, been far from a PNP to be honest. I got it installed and got sync issues. So i carried the dizzy mod out so now its 12-1. However still got sync issues. So i layed new shielded cable and the me221 went wild. It started syncing and unsyncing when i wasnt even cranking it. Really dont know what happened. Anyway i removed the battery terminal and reset the car it had fixed it. I got sync and spark, on all 4 cylinders. I haven't now had any sync issues. Although throughout the process i needed new plug, as i thought that was the issue but it was just syncing and not. Its been a long week of getting though serveral stages. However everything seemed good to go.

She fired up finally but i believe the map is bad. When its been revved it sounds ok ish, however the car will not idle. When i hold the throttle around 1200 it sounds like a misfire. But its currently running. Been a wild game of what i thought would be easy.

I will try upload a video of how it is now

Also got a 3 gauge pillar pod off a seller on here ready for some gauges :)

  6. So guys,

Any advice, heard rx7 have really poor spray pattern, dont really wanna pay 400 for some id1000s, whats the happy middle?

    thanks

So they are no more oops I'll order a set of fisk ones they do the next run.

Off down my garage the other day to get my oem skirts that I painted black when I had my na to bring home and repaint white for the time being.

They will do for the time being better than no skirts at all. I'll get the rear splitter sorted at some point and back on probly repaint the rear bumper aswell as I wasn't happy with it.

Thinking about raising the car 5 - 10 mm aswell as I keep having problems with rubbing on the arches.

    Cheers nick.

You running 205/50/15? im having same problem lol i did get it perfect before i sold it and bought it back. What happened to the skirts lol ?

  9. Little bit done on the glanza tonight. I took the emanage out and got a wiring diagram up. I managed to link out the cut wires and the car started right up.

currently in two minds of leaving it linked out like it is or taking the harness out. more then likely I’ll tape up the links and leave it like that.

Liking the build mate another white one 🙌 you should have looked on my thread man I stripped it out yesterday and won’t be using any of the belts you could have had what you wanted there only going to lay about!

Hi mate, thanks. Shocker, that frustrating. I tried messaging you on Facebook, never heard back off ya.

  11. So as the car stands , I’ve checked the ignition timing and the engine timing. Perfect, it’s left the injectors and emb, the afr is contantly reading 11 on idle. Rather rich.  Piggybacks are awful and it was fitted and mapped probably 5yrs ago and it was old tech then.

so I have ordered a ME221. I’m going upgrade the (which I believe is stock) injectors.

I got the headunit and 4inch dash speakers fitted , some sound in the car which I am more then greatful for. It’s a start and the 4 inch are better then I thought to be honest. Once the interiors is in I might look at fitting some 6x9 or a custom door car either way it takes the drone away.

ive found some rear belts and ordered them. So leaving the rear interior out until i fit them.

    Exciting times ahead :)

  12. Little bit of a update today,

Ive managed to get some front seat belts, need to get some proper bolts, they are in but need some bolts for the upper seatbelt hanger for them to be perfect. Rear seat belts im still looking but the rear is stripped out.

I put the king lead and new rotor arm on today and took her for a lap, I forgot how fast this thing is.  Looking forward to getting the interior in and sorted, hopefully going to give it a go getting some 4 inch speakers in and a head unit I have in the garage lying about.

will get a couple pics tomorrow :)
