  2. Well recently bought a shock and springs combo second hand off a fellow member......coff! andyglanza coff!

And well the kyb excel shocks were pretty good condition so i was reasonably pleased with these but when i got the springs i was unsure about which way around the rear springs went, now after allot of research and gettin on allot of peoples nerves goin on about them lol, ( sorry idress :) ) i finally phoned tein direct, after talking to them i found out that they have been cut down :harhar: now this has really pissed me off, as he never said they had been cut down and now the car sits allot lower on the rear than it does the front, its like 45mm drop on the back and 35mm on the front, it looks fuked, and plus ive completely skinted myself to buy these and now im stuck with nasty rear springs that will probly end up wrecking the shocks due to the drop and well it just looks wank imo, so i took them off the day after fitting them ( in the frezzing cold :) ) and contacted andy about a refund and well he said he aint happy about takin them back because i might have messed them up fitting and removing them and might be messing him around? im a fully qualified fitter so i think i know what im doing, plus i offered to pay for the costs to send them back to ireland, and now he wont answer any txts, im really bumbed about this  just makes me feel like getting shot of the starlet and getting a standard car and not messing about modding it :(

  3. Yup was the same when I had my PI springs

Ah ok nice one mate thanks for the help  , hopefully its not too cold tommoz so I can get them on lol, hopefully get some pics too :) should looks pretty good on them springs. I didnt wanna go too low as cardiff, as you might know is littered with speed humps :) just wanna fill the arches :p

them I gorra find out what this little spacer is for and where it goes, which I had with my whiteline panhard rod lol

  4. Well i got some tein shocks mounted on excel g shocks that i got off a fellow member, but i thought the back springs were on the wrong way around, so did bourkey, but after seeing idress's suspension thread i have other thoughts :) they came with the tight coils on the bottom of the shocks and loose coils at the top which i thought was wrong, but in the thread by idress ( i know they are different springs ) they are mounted the same?? heres the link tho the thread below, any ideas guys?? any one who actually has teins too?? cheers

  5. They ruled my life at one point lol, i love them all from old tamiyas to the latest buggys and trucks, ive currently got about 9 but i will probly be selling them in the future, i never have the time for them anymore :( , good fun tho, and like you said great fun building them and repairing them :)

  6. ah ok cool matey, that was one of my biggest worries, speed humps lol, but yeah the teins should be ok, i always crawl over the humps anyway, you dont want to be driving behind me when there's speed humps around lol, people go crazy with me haha

  7. Fair play mate, that looks miles better now! nice drop, not too low, so they are still goin to be practical over the speed bumps :surrender: you recon the excel g's will handle the tein springs ok? i dont want to get them and then find a few miles later they have shit there selves lol :surrender:

  8. Well ive been offered a spring - shock combo for my glanza that consists of kyb exel G shocks and Tein S-tech springs and i just wondered if anyone has any good pics to show the drop of those springs? also any opinions on this combo? will those shocks handle them springs bein only slight upgrade over stock shocks? cheers guys, starlybruiser :surrender:

  10. Nice GT mate, looks mint, just as a thought, maybe the heater isnt getting warm because its been bypassed due to a leaky heater matrix in the past? just an idea mate, if the thermostat wasnt working the engine would be gettin alot hotter than normal temp, just an idea mate, check the pipes, cheers starlybruiser

  11. well there is that but if your changing the springs, you should change the shocks, that way you know its new, and the fact they will perform better.

yeah they would, any other suggestions? i would prefere something i can just straight swap instead of either coilys, which ned setting up, or koni's that need messing around with, are the kyb shocks ok down to 40mm? cheers buddy

  12. id go for the KYB shocks with TEIN springs, KYB are the equivilent to the standard, but there good for street use especially with TEIN springs, there alot cheaper than KONI aswell.

if they are the same as the standard shocks shouldnt i save money and just put tein's on my standard shocks? cheers buddy

  13. u didnt go for the gmax then lol.

a good combo is koni shocks with tein springs, i know you have to fuck about with them but there worth it.

yeah mate, rang Gmax direct and they said the kit will not fit a glanza  only the uk n/a's ah well never mind, yeah the konis are surposed to be good but they are pricey too aint they, any others you would recommend? cheers buddy

  14. Im after a good shock and spring combo for my glanza, im looking to lower it by 40mm, i dont want coilys as they are more expensive and normally pretty dam stiff  any recomendations on what shock and spring combos work well? also i dont want the koni's as you have to piss about with the front ones to fit them (inserts) any help greatly appreciated, cheers starelybruiser
