Thats becuase the 4efte was never designed to run on anything less than fuel they have in japan i.e. 97/99 RON (im quoting the RON from what other people have saidthey have in japan.) of course its going to run better than what it would on 90.. As far as im concerned its absolutely pointless putting 97RON in a 4efe that is more than capable of burning the 90 RON fuel efficiently. Im not a scientist, im just reading facts found easily on the internet. Mitch

Octane rating relates to how well the fuel burns in a controlled manor. For example: A 90 RON fuel will burn under control in a standard engine with X compression. If you then raised that X compression ratio, lets say a high performance engine, the fuel will no longer be within its stable combustion range.. and will tend to spontaneously combust..i.e. det. But if you put a fuel in the 'high compression performance engine', that would combust stably under those conditions, it would be of a higher RON.. i.e. 99 RON. This fuel will of course combust fine in the standard engine with X compression

Odd wheels ftw'zzz. Mike-i might be tempted by the HKS actuator... one question though.. can i retain the current standard levels of boost? .45 and .65 bar? (i think those are the standard levels) Or does it only adjust down to a certain level? Hope that made sense Mitch

Thanks for the help. I was just worrying that the stud was designed to... stay in. Damien- il see how it goes mate, but i might take you up on that offer il post up how its going.
-
Yeah, i get you... only theres no thread lol. Thanks for the replys . Now... any one got a decat flange nice a flat before? Think thats why it snapped to be honest. Mitch
-
Ok, Ive given up completely for the evening, so il give it another crack tomorrow. Think i need a torch and a big hammer to flatten the flange.hmm Mitch
-
Thats all i wanted to hear lol. Would you advise me to remove the whole turbo setup and tackle it? Taar Mitch
-
Helpz Mitch
-
Battery could be flat. Mitch
-
Ok so. long story short; Welded my decat because it was cracked. The flange warped slightly so wasnt 100% flat. Upon re-fitting it, i was tightening up one of the nuts, slowly pulling the flange true. Then SNAP goes the stud. Ive never been in this situation before... and im so pissed off at myself. My questions are: Am i completly fucked? Can i remove the stud? If so, shall i remove the whole lot? (turbo, manifold etc) then tackle it. What shall i do about the warped flange on the de-cat? Mitch
-
Ah fair enough. Thats the best way though. Could you not polish the lip? Mitch
