Dude, how do you think any of us learnt to do anything? We just jump in at the deep end and do it-obviously doing the appropriate research into the subject to prevent causing any damage. Ive gained alot of knowledge from just this site itself, just read project threads and 'How to's'. Give a few things a try for yourself. But being safe is the most important! i.e. it gets a bit dodgy when you begin jacking the car up and being underneath. You must use axle stands and anything else you can pack around the car to prevent it falling on you. As for welding, ive been doing a TIG welding course for the past 8 weeks or so... its a piece of piss. The hard bit is getting the right penetration into the material to make it a safe/secure weld.
