  1. Bit disappointed that the MPS3 type air bonnet scoop could not come to fruition due to the lack of space So, I've been tossing up what type of air scoops/vents to increase the TMIC efficiency. Here is a thought. The aim of this car is to try to remain as ninja as possible. I.e. getting dismissed as a crappy car = Success! Or looks of "WTF!?" when they have burnt off and find that I'm still hanging around or have gone past them in a corner = SUCCESS! Evo air box vent (each) = $50 Celica GT4 vent = $150 My initial thoughts were: 1. Get the GT4 vent, because after seeing one of th
  2. Definately doing that! All things considered if it goes pear shaped, a spare bonnet won't cost an arm or a leg. Using the skeletal structure of the bonnet, I'll be able to follow a DIY pattern. Update. Spent the about an hour tracing the fuel gauge wiring to the actual chasis of the car....alas the wiring changes colour some where!! *Oh noes*. Hopfully a request for a photo of the fuel gauge wiring from an EP82 GT can shed some more answers....fingers crossed. Also. Using some Kitchen spec overhead ducting (See nascar mod), I was able to direct cold air from the 'fog light' holes i
  3. Yeah mate. It is bad joo joo, but it's she's been working quite well for the past 3000km's. I don't go too hard. I'm nanny spec at the moment.
  4. Next project: DIy Bonnet vents. - hot air must get out some how, and the JDM nuts and washers method doesn't seem slick enough.... so, after some net surfing - S2ker's seem to have a good idea.
  5. Thanks Cujo. I've clocked up about 2000km's already and no dramas I'm currently getting about 6.5 - 8 L/100, depending on driving, so it's really great! Even better than the NA 4EFE, probably becuase of the fact that I shift early - loving the torque!
  6. The time is near Joz! Track attack Starlettos!! You and Bourkey should burn it up! It's be great to see you two dueling on the track ;) Looking forward to see more pics, Jules
  7. ...umm.. May 27 - June 29 ;) The new tires are on now, and the multispoke rims are back on. Thank goodness for new tires! The grip levels are much better HAHA I think raising the bonnet by a nut would help remove the TMIC taking in some hot air. It no longer loon ninja spec, but it seems it will have to do for now. Also, using the passenger side 'Foglight/Nascar' hole, I'll endevour to link up some piping along the guard in order to direct cold air towards the TMIC. This looks awesome! Vented Hood Mod DIY Also looking at future options such as Front mounting an RX7 FC TMIC.
  8. Nice engine bay ;) Big fan of the 4 AGE starletto's. We got a few back in Aus. One of them is a regular track car - hasn't skipped a beat!
  9. THanks mate. She has fresh tires on now. Bridgestone Adrenlines.
  10. Why wheel alignments are probably a good idea after coil over install and an increase in 50% of power at the wheels.... This is a comparison of the rear tires of the CSA Hornet rims + tire compared with the front passenger tire. The CSA Hornets have seen +1000 kms, included a track day. The front passenger tires have seen under 1000kms. *Shakes head in shame* I was completely shocked to see almost no tread left. If it was raining I would of been goners.... It was raining on the way back to the mines and the picture of the tread explains a fair bit (i.e. aqua planing). With the
  11. Love the updates. Good luck on the Looms. It seems like your on the final hurdle!
  12. All, just thought you'd like some options (2) in DIY'ing a Front lip. 1. The Garage Door Seal *Sorry for massive pic. Can a mod resize please? **Pic from Austarlet: Camakarsi THere are different styles of Garage Door seals, as seen here on a recent model WRX: 2. The Ebay Spec Cut and Glue The Live sports splitter looks awesome! ...but if you can't afford it... The lip itself looks very similar to this: For the bush mechanic minded (i.e. ALL OF US HAVE 'IT'), you could get an old GC8 model STI style lip EBAY, or cruise around WRX forums and pick up a bargain - the reason f
  13. *oops double post. Fantastic transformation. David, I used your build as a bench mark of mods. Thanks for the advice
  14. Top effort for both respray. Congrats to you both.
  15. ducts look awesome. Before I had the 4efte transplant, I had a duct like that - it made the car sound very angry under acceleration
  16. Clark Rubber is a specialist rubber shop here in Australia. More DIY Lip infor HERE Try the hardware store? It translates to... A Garage seal door stop. Comparison... The lip itself looks very similar to this:
  17. Awesome interior. Great modding style! Will you go a front splitter/lip later on as well? The Buckets are awesome!
  18. It's a lip off an EG Civic! I wanted this version, however couldn't find a 'cheap one' on a Honda forum, so I went the lesser aggressive version. Maybe later when I come across this version, I'll upgrade: I got if for $50 AU, which would be about 16 pounds? On Ebay Uk, they have EG Civic lips for $5 Pounds, but shipping from the US is $100. Or...you could DIY your lip like this: DIY Starlet Lip: AUS STARLET Club This was completed for $40 Aussie. Which is about 13 Pounds? ... or a WRX lip (looks exactly like the same design as TOY SPORT ) and cut it down to size : 79 pounds plus
  19. The Weekend weather has turned out quite good...so... The Exhaust. 2.5" All the way, with a 'mandrel bent' 2.5 inch tip Looks depressingly stock Here is what it looks like in the 'sock' test: THe Subaru cover fits over the TMIC! ...unfortunately, the bonnet doesn't allow the gap, and there isn't enough length for the DIY ducting... T_T. OH well, I'm sure we can use it for something later on... IT seems we'll bush mechanic an RX7 FC TMIC into a FMIC! THe Nascar mod in comparison with the LIP and White mirrors. - Highly recommended mod for the NA 4E's - louder induction noise,
  20. Fellow 4EFTE... What was that comment I read about having dibs on a glanza bumper  Just drill out the holes yourself! DIY FTW!! It's only about $20 AU, or 10 odd pounds for a set of circular cutter drill bits. They will pay themselves off in no time! PHOTOS!!
