  1. Taken from shittypedia: 1st Gen 4E-FE The first generation of 4E engines found in the Starlet GI and Solail models were produced from 1989 until 1996 the engine found in these two models obtained power figures of 99 bhp (74 kW) @ 6600 rpm and 86 ft·lbf (117 N·m) @ 5200 rpm. this engine had more in common with the 4efte sharing the same throttle body, and slightly larger injectors. 2nd Gen 4E-FE The 2nd Generation of the 4E-FE was introduced in 1996 producing less peak power: 85 bhp (63 kW) @ 5500 rpm, but with a slight increase in peak torque 87 ft·lbf (118 NÂÂ
  2. This spec of 4EFE came on the EP80 N/As aswell I think?
  3. Well I wouldn't expect this 4EFE to have as good mpg as the newer ones, they were changed due to emissions
  4. They go inside the standard airbox mate, it's in the top right hand side part of the engine bay, a black box, undo the clips, fuck the old filter away, put the new one in, clip the box back up, job done. And no there's no point using them alongside other air filters... lol An aftermarket induction kit replaces the standard airbox.
  5. Also this version of the 4EFE (that the FTE was based on) is slightly more powerful than the newer ones right? But they changed it because of emissions or something?
  6. That looks like the older generation of the 4EFE.
  7. Find a new home for the engine
  8. What car did it come out of? Are you sure it's not the "older" generation of 4EFE that came in the EP82 (or whatever 80 it is) version of the N/A, the one that the 4EFTE was based on, it has the same inlet manifold as the 4EFTE.
  9. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=VifqSmrtX64 at around 4:08 this is probably old but I saw it last night on tv
  10. Agreed, there's shitloads of silicone/aluminium pipes on ebay.
  11. Polishing subs... what will blondes do next
  12. You don't really need it when the filter is in the place that you'd put the cold air feed in anyway

    Summer

What a joke, all through "Summer" it was crap weather, and now it's the middle of september and it's the sunniest it's been all year!
  14. What's this then? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-APEXi-Power-Inta...id=p3286.c0.m14
  15. not really mate on the turbo starlets if you get rid of the standard piping and get a "U-bend" bit of pipe you can have the filter sat infront of the rad go on the toytuning website and look at the filter relocation kits
  16. No, I doubt an enclosed filter with a cold air feed would be as good on a Glanza anyway, you can easily get the filter in a good place with a simple U-bend pipe. Whereas on the N/A Starlets it's a pain in the ass because of the engine bay layout and where the standard airbox is.
  17. You can get these off ebay for £40 but then you need to buy a stupid adapter which is another 10.
  18. A huge improvement over his previous car looks great Next mod should be the inlet manifold Agreed, some nice 5 or 6 spoked ones would have been better IMO
  19. It wasn't this one was it? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Apiro-TORQUE-Twin-Co...oQQcmdZViewItem I've had my eye on getting one of them seeing as they're fairly cheap but still half decent from what I've read, and they come with the reducer+joiner.
  20. Yeah I know about the bits of pipe and that off ebay, but when you add up the cost of all the bits of pipe it comes to a fair bit, so I thought it might be cheaper to just have a one-piece pipe. Like Rob's is what I had in mind, but not with drainpipe Rich's setup looks easier though, just the reducer, a little bit of straight, and a 45 degree bend, and no need to move the rad. Rich, what filter is that on there?
  21. Around £30-£40 for half decent leads, but if you go for Magnecor or whatever they're called they're something like £70? Dizzy Cap is around a tenner Rotor Arm - I have a brand new one for sale, I bought it thinking the FE/FTE rotor arms would be the same lol, they're £17 from Toyota IIRC
  22. It could be: Spark plugs HT leads Rotor arm Distributor Cap possibly something to do with the battery?
