whoopidy doo LMAO jays has been hard at work! enjoy. Phil

haha well there you go, thats my point though, as funny as that is ^^ lol you dont need me to tell you that you probably bought 3times as much stuff as you need for the power you have, seats and things like that, you know as well as me make zero difference(or next to it) if you had forgot emanage blue/fpr/fcd/330cc injectors/hybrid turbo (ive no idea what you run) and just slowly went balls out no the spec with 10K you could push close to 350hp/ton and if your running 300hp(350hp/ton) your mates golf/ibiza is going to be wanting to touch 420hp+ to achieve the same power to weight ratio. anyw

rory, my full alloy civic rad gave up the ghost on me, ebay job, you know the one. weejohn had the same happen to him while back, another fella down south, warped 2 in a week. im not running anything silly, so i gotta assume the rad isnt great¬!! id advise a stock gt rad if you can get away with it, if not, then perfect would be a charade one. Phil

10~K what the frig did you buy? everything brandnew? and none of the work done by yourself? even then you must have bought a heck of alot of stickers and air fresheners to waste 10k getting to 220hp/ Phil
-
similar budgets? then you couldnt buy an ibiza cupra R. similar budgets after purchase and only counting Mods. my mate has spent more than me on his 1.8t to get 360hp and its still slower than my gt(just) and yes ihi is great, especially in a starlet lol even then a 350hp ibiza wont be as fast as a 300hp gt. Phil
-
but.. 17.5K for something that you could keep up with in a quick starlet at 4500k? 17.5K for a corsa, haha Phil
-
yeah sorry mark forged crank. something nuts like 40 codes which differ in terms of Compression ratio/Head port size/injectors, the forge/cast crank ran by date of build therefore not neccessarily the top models GTI cupra R had these it was based on date of assembly. thats what the guy tells me anywho. more to the point, pound for pound a starlet is faster than a 1.8t whatever it arrives in stock. Phil
-
pretty much the same bar the forged pistons?. my friend/guy i know has the one,his runs 360/70hp ish. fairly tight between him and me. Phil EDIT this is in a golf by the way.
-
also worth mentioning incase someone reads this thread and think hmm stock 1.8t = 300/350/400bhp, its not that simple, i think there are 4 different 1.8t engine codes, one of the four has alot of power potential. Phil
-
you dont need the match the power of the ibiza to beat one, do you? the map is one area of the vag wins financially, and thats only because toyota wont let us remap the stock ecu. once you buy a mappable ecu for your gt, then your mapping costs will be the same/less. Phil

ibiza cupra r - stock starlet - stock ibiza wins ibiza cupra - stock starlet - stock starlet wins. tune them, balls out with the only restriction being the engine. ibiza wins. real world tuning with similar budgets... starlet wins hands down. by a country mile. Phil

haha, im sure something could be arranged. Phil

HE, was fiddling lol i tried to help but jay was so busy cleaning things there was really anything to put on the car. we even cleaned the tmic just for the pics haha Phil

fiesta st's. stock are slow but far more potential ultimately than a gt or glanza given the engine size. and yes the duratec engine used in the st, is also used in the mazda3 mps, turbo and putting out 260? stock. so if you turbo the st or for that matter drop the mps engine in your going to be all singing all dancing without too much work. and when mapping a gt over 260hp you can see the limiter in fifth, so you dont need massive power like starletriks or burwashes to be way past 125mph. Phil
-
for 250hp your going to want something more than those 30% uprated things, An exedy organic racing to retain driveability would be perfect for the sort of horsepower and give a longer life than a paddle. or a TRD sports friction plate which the related cover(identical setup the exedy above) both made by Dalkin(sp) Phil

id try carfolio.com for your info/specs etc on different cars. just jot down the relative power to weight ratio and take it from there, there is no shame in being beaten by something like an 1.8t ibiza, its just an incentive to come back with a few pounds sensibly spent and have a better stab at it. Phil
-
when running more than 180bhpish there limiter can sometimes(all the time) allow you straight through, no issues. few guys told me this and i have found this too. Phil
-
@ the price, well its all ok.(maybe even good!) yes there is much to be sniffed at, but certainly it does have the makings of a quick motor. it looks a little austrailian or NZ with the colour and wheels...but not the end of the world. i know that a highly respected ep owner once ran ross pistons and oem rods with surprising results for a fair length of time, that was with big boost through a td04 and a tight eye to the rev limit! to be honest, it does just appear to be a once highly modded now demodified gt turbo. sad to see :surrender: but like alot of these cars it has potential which

http://www.alltrac.net/tuning/brake.html half way down you will see the st165 brakes discussed and the pads options, the only link i bothered following was that of potterfield racing pads, and they seem keenly priced. hope that helps. Phil
-
the guy selling them may have just got something mixed up, they could well be celica brakes just not st185 single pot ones! the levin twin pots are very similar to the celica st165 twin pots, id guess thats what they could well be. still a superb brake upgrade over standard thats what i run on my motor, with a slightly different disc setup(no spacers) only problem/issue is that uprated pads are hard to come by for them! give me two secs and i fire up a few links to the few places i could find that offer upgraded pads(bar fensport(who have shortages themselves) Phil

12.8 on the old turbo aze_b? what sort time you hoping for with this new monster? Phil
-
leading the way as always harry nice. break that 10 Phil

fuel cut occurs when the map sensor reads 4.12v, which varies from car to car but usually about 0.8bar. possibly your map sensor is snookered mate, or else its something else, but its something worth checking hope you get sorted mate, im sure that conversion is a nice hike in power Phil

spec list requested, i'll pm it too you when i get it! he's obviously working to a different sunlight situation in nz, so be patient Phil

sorry mods ive no idea how to delete my double posting error. Phil
