Thanks for that bro Its all about parts, parts, parts unfortunately with these cars, but you know at the end of it that its going to be totally sorted ;) Keep the faith Joz -
Glad to see you have finally taken the plunge Nic. Nice wee spec you have there too with some choice parts not usually seen much on N/As. Red EPs are for winners by the way How do you find the difference from the lightweight pulleys and have you come across any problems with them? Will be good to see some pictures of them. Also pm sent mate. Talk soon Joz

Cheers for the encouragement guys. Rick I so need that in my leif lol. Got some news on the MAIN PART and it is basically almost ready to be assembled, you have no idea how long the wait has been... I better get off my ass and gather the rest of the parts needed for the rebuild. Not much more to get... Soon I will be able to update what parts I have gathered to give you an idea of the direction the project is going ;) Its just a bit awkward without the star of the show, the show can't go on without it Not too long now... They strengthen the fender/wheel arch area of both sides of the chassis mate and give extra support especially during normal or hard cornering. Joz -

Addiction indeed! ^^ Not an update but more of a recollection. Its taken me this long to get a USB for my bloody SE phone lol. This is when I got my Ultra Racing Fender braces installed (taken by mechanic) I also got the four point lower arm bar installed and the room bar is going in soon at the same time as the Levin Twin Pot Brakes next week. Things are starting to really come together now part-wise, and the MAIN part I need is going to be reality soon (I've had words ;) ...) Its the main reason I haven't updated all the other parts I've gathered... I envisage a full 5E rebuild by the end of next month... you'll have to wait to find out the rest. Have I said too much? ;) Joz -
MMMMmmmmm thats better than factory fresh bro!!! Worth the wait eh ;) ;) Joz
-
'Freshness' was exactly what I thought too. He's not an easy man to please when it comes to the EP lol. Joz

Sounds good Jay man. Was he happy with the workmanship? Joz

Happy Birthday Tomato! Joz

The Rear ARB is an excellent addition to help improve the rear of the starlet, I run an adjustable Whiteline with the adjustment links set at medium. The bar is 20mm thick and this is the only thickness they come in. I found a cusco rear strut brace also helped the rear setup immensely. Im also running an RSR Panhard Rod, C Pillar Brace and Coilovers so there is next to no bodyroll. My EP is focused on handling and the rear is sturdier than the front so very little chance of understeer. This is especially with the rear coilover's spring rate slightly higher than the fronts (4kg front, 6kg rear). Here is the Whiteline Adjustable Rear ARB on my Extreme EP N/A Here is Toy Tuning's Ultra Racing Rear ARB Example Pic You can see the differences there between the two rarbs. With the Whiteline item, identically spaced holes need to be drilled on either side of the rear axle. The Ultra Racing item is covered extensively in this article by a member on TGTT >Ultra Racing Rear ARB Fitted Here is another interesting article debating between the two Rear ARBS >your vs Whiteline A competent mechanic should be able to do this for you, albeit yourself. That was an impressive takeoff. Shows you how well the starlet accelerates with the standard exhaust system, really retains its low end. Joz
