The Blitz Nurspec and HKS Systems are turbo mufflers mate so they are going to be at least 2.5". The oem n/a backbox is approx 1.75" as well as the entire piping of the whole exhaust system. Aim for a backbox with 2" - 2.25" diameter for a closer match. Its better to go for a proper n/a tuned backbox such as the blitz realize or there is a nice selection of new and 2nd hand backboxes/systems on the yahoo japan auctions but these come at a price circa £350+ and wont really give your starlet much gains for the money. A proper specific system would benefit if you are going for a total

On a brighter note my pc is back up and running, thanks for your concern All the engine stuff is at my mechanics being prepared for the big rebuild. Lots of pics to come of whats happening so far... The main tuning parts I received were not as great as expected so Im going to work on them myself, albeit gonna be exciting stuff! Some tasty bits also that are going to sort the Red EP right out, all engine and performance baby!!! ;) Joz -
Hi Sam Im after a quote for: 5EFE Oil Pump (same as 4EFE? someone please confirm) 5EFE Water Pump (same as 4EFE? someone please confirm) 5EFE Powersteering Pump (same as 4EFE? someone please confirm) 5EFE Headbolts (same as 4EFE? someone please confirm) 5EFE OEM Thrust Washers Think thats about it. 1998 Toyota Paseo should be OK for the model. I would like each price itemised and as a total please as I would like to compare them to aftermarket parts. Cheers Joz

There is lots of existing info on the 5efe conversion mate in EP Technical. The hardest task is indeed finding a mint unabused example which can be difficult I have done the conversion and I highly recommend it. Much more N/A potential. Joz.

Congrats Idrees! Now the real test begins... Enjoy driving bro. Joz

What about a meet before the summer ends
Jozinobi replied to starletsoldia's topic in The Irish Quarter
Im up for Newcastle anytime guys. You can still have the meets at Kirky & Belfast. But if you want to visit this part of the woods, I'd be happy to help organise it seeing as Im local. There are not really that great racers at the big arcade anymore, the dodgems are still there. No MORE Initial D... I also work Sundays lol. Joz -
Check out Tayyib's Green Machine too mate. Joz

Its all good, you have posted in the right section. For the record, the only straight swap headlight for your ep91 n/a starlet is the crystal clear headlights. If you want Glanza ones then you will need the whole glanza front end conversion because the glanza headlights are longer. Even then, the glanza headlights will be plastic, whereas the crystal ones are glass. There is a set for sale in the parts for sale section, be quick... Hope this helps. Joz

The wings are a good fit Si, they are labelled for EP82 but as you can see, they fit fine. One spot needs welding (single point). Have also received a large box of engine stuff from Riko the other day. Just sorting all that out now. Joz -
I will keep a look out mate however I checked out some shipping services to St Lucia and it seems very expensive to ship there just for a small item... Im thinking it may be best to contact hardcoreep, his name is Rory and is located in Jamaica. Here is his immense website Hardcore EP91.com You will find him as a member (user is hardcoreep) on www.toyotagtturbo.com. You will need to register if not a member already. Im sure he can help you or at least give better advice as he is a VERY experienced EP tuner and also located in the West Indies like yourself. He could be your 'link', just

I did get your message ChineseMafia. I believe that the 3E-TE rods would be very similar to the strength of 4EFTE rods, unfortunately you cant use 4EFTE rods in a 5E due to the taller block. It is also 3E-TE rods that are the upgrade, I reckon that turbo engine will be hard to find. I asked how much would you pay for 5EFHE ones because I may be able to track some down. Also you have asked the parts department how much they are new, so better to wait for their answer. Joz

When upgrading rods for a 5E engine, the most tried and tested are either forged items or rare 5EFHE items. Havent heard anything about 3E rods, but altho its a 1.5 engine there may still be complications. If you read that site carefully it also states that 5EFHE rods are an upgrade over the 3E ones. Its a very good site by the way. The 5EFHE rods are the ideal ones to get in my opinion for the most cost effective working solution How much are you willing to pay for a set of 5EFHE rods and where are you located? Joz

Alloy wheels are all about personal taste mate. There is no set rule to what looks good and what doesnt. Its cool if you want other people opinions tho, just dont rely on them too much if you really want to 'personalise' your car. Don't go for the Lensos in my opinion as they are common, you can get far better for your money. Check this out to open your eyes bud Envy Wheel Selection Also there is not much wrong with Rotas, they are more readily available, but you can get 2nd hand better built genuine jdm wheels in vgc for around the same price off yahoo auctions. I took that route and hi

Best to ask Sheekey for obscure or hard to find part numbers mate. Check the Toyota Parts Department under 'EP Trading'. Joz

Hi mate Welcome to the uksc forum. Most answers or info can be found in our technical section. All it takes is a quick search or browse the category to do with your question. You have posted in 'Exhaust Intake & Cooling' which is the right place ;) Check 'it' out as we have lots of induction kit related info there already. Cheers & enjoy the site. Joz

Parkers may not be 100% accurate with their performance figures for the n/a but seem to be spot on about the different models of UK N/A EP91's available. Parkers Starlet Review You will also find the base model is actually the 1.3 Si just for the record. Ok the Si and the Sportif are both very similar but the Si is even more basic than the Sportif (Sportif graphics and Sportif wheel trims anyone?). Good luck finding a low mileage unabused minter, usually one of old folks is your best bet. Joz

Congratulations Mark! All the very best with the birth and everything man. Joz
