    Hi guys,

Does anyone anyone have a workshop manual for an EP82 Starlet? Specifically for rebuilding the gearbox? Mine's under the scalpel at the moment, but the workshop doing it are having trouble sourcing a workshop manual for the torque specs.

    Cheers!

i have the book but would like to know what bolts youd like too know about im suprised you dont want clearances ?

    Thanks for your response!

I've pmed them and they responded with the following two:

    https://shop.quaife.co.uk/toyota-aisin-bc16-quaife-atb-helical-lsd-differential

    https://shop.quaife.co.uk/toyota-corolla-ae92-starlet-ep82-ep91-quaife-atb-differential-1219

They told me that they don't know what fits because they don't have a record (?!?!?) and I need to measure mine myself, the've sent me the drawings for both, telling me that the first is for the c52 and the 2nd one for the c64. They didn't propose the ep71 one....the thing is I need to have it here (if any fits) to have my gearbox down and disassembled and put it on and reassembled...not waiting for several days with the car disassembled and fiund out that nothing fits...I'm finding lots of celica and mr2 lsd ads but some of them tell it clearly that they won't fit corolla/starlet etc

I'm leaning little towards QDF15E the starlet 4efte one since the gearboxes are interchangeable with the corolla 4efe....

if your not willing to take the box down and check first hand im not sure what you want other people todo ! apart from take guesses like i did.. youve done alot of reshreach and come up with nothing would you rather order the wrong diff to find out it dont fit ! then send it back (more money ) incure a surchage (more money) to get the correct one !

its not as if you can use the car in this day and age ! (lockdown)

stop looking for the easy way out to put it blunt !

So can you please give me a hint on what fits where? :) I own a corolla 4efe g6 gearbox which I already use with my stock driveshafts. So what lsd can I use to fit my gearbox? Is the quaife for the starlets suitable?

theres two types of diffs for the starlet 8 bolt and 6 bolt

    8 bolt turbo

    6 bolt n/a

why dont you give them a call ?quaife

As the intercooler pipework was off I decided to fit the gear selector cable bearing kit I’ve had laying around for years. A job I will never bother to do again! I wasn’t too keen on number of washers with the kit so I machined up some thicker washers. Unfortunately one cable is now slightly bent and the gearstick doesn’t quite move to centre from 5th but nothing major. All fitted up and ready for the rest of the car to be put back together once the throttle body gasket arrives.

Some good examples of rear facing vents that do not affect tyre contact and removing under bonnet heat and drag but keep bonnet downforce look at the vents in the sill panel bellow the windscreen

image.jpegNow look at the holes cut in this sill panel center under the windscreen to let out trapped air (drag reduction)

you can see in this picturewhat seems too be  engine is tilted for better driveshaft angle but what comes into my head if done this way (there is other ways ) is the risk of having less oil return to sump and oil build up in head !!!! as we all know oil drain to sump  is at the back of the block...

imo engine forward... up... and tilt back...
