  1. Problem with mine is it only did about 1500 miles between each mot and was kept in a garage for the last 5 years and now it's being used daily.. Airbag light came on at exactly 50,001 then the steering angle sensor failed 120 miles later. All fixed now and immaculate bar the sat nav drive dying ...

Are you using a legit copy of the nav software?

Mine would crash constantly until I switched back to the original CD, worth a try. I just sold my M3, I need to buy something that will tow my Starlet, never has there been a more boring car search. Even semi interesting cars like S4's which you would think could tow, can't.

  2. My friends son has just been employed by Mercedes F1 to paint their cars.

He started painting maybe 2 years ago, worked at a couple of body shops and went to college on day release. The thing that separated him from others was his passion for his craft. His work was top notch, spent time at home with his dad learning to airbrush, etc.

Problem for someone who already earns OK money will be losing that, you'll probably earn minimum wage until you get good, and even then you'll need to exceptional to make decent money. But put in the hours, and be passionate about the things you do and that wont take very long.

Good luck, after 12 years of IT I'm at a bit of a crossroads myself.

  3. No racing yet. That cars up for it but i'm not.

Looks like a proper piece of kit already, go and enjoy it, once you can't physically make the car go any faster worry about increasing horse power.

Spend the money you would on a turbo kit on track time and instruction.. Nobody wants to be that guy in the race suit who gets in everybody's way ;)

  4. I've owned a single turbo RX7, S14, GT-Four, and whilst the old Japanese stuff is cool to look at, they are decades apart from my E46 M3 in terms of build quality, comfort, reliability and day to day performance.

My brother has a 350z, it looks ok, sounds nice but is dreadful on fuel and i think it's fit and finish inside is really bad as well. Hard plastics all over, shitty buttons, etc.

If you buy something new like the Ibiza you're buying at the top of it's depreciation curve, you stand to lose thousands of pounds if you buy one now.
