A guy with a yaris is using the short screws and is working a treat, you might have just got a duff one then
-
Have a look here dude: http://www.track-ninjas.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=58 Don't worry too much about others on track, concentrate on being safe, enjoying yourself and remember MIRRORS to make sure you let people quicker than you past. You get no hero points for driving too hard and breaking things

Forgot to ask, are you using the shorter screws due to the difference id thickness of the clip?
-
Very strange, he is usually fast to reply, I will drop him a line A guy on CCUK just posted this: "Got mine yesterday and fitted this morning. Been out for a very thorough test. Easy to fit but I think the clasp jaws could be better engineered. Anyway it does what it says in the speel. In fact I wish I had one off these years ago. It stops me figitting in the seat and always having to re-arrange myself during high speed cornering and heavy breaking. My hips and arse are kept well into the seat and I feel more a part of the seat and car as movement it completely eliminated. I'm also sitting better. Best £34 spent for a while."

So you say non-members get charged that, members pay half the contribution or even none, but Geo must pass over cash to the show team when they need it. The only concern I have is that the traders fees alone should be paying for the site and more. There are 10 traders plus myself!
-
Show tickets, good idea Trisk. A lot of clubs have a members price and a non-members price, this could be a good idea as if it is going to make people think for the extra few quid it is worth joining.
-
Some already give % discounts to members whilst also paying trader fees, I guess another way round that is to lower trader fees slightly to get them to offer a higher discount especially for members. I know if my fees were lower I could maybe push discount to 10% or offer special UKSC member only deals

There are pros and cons with paying for selling: Pros Gets money in Stops people signing up just to sell Reduces risk of scamming Cons Stops those bargains you get when people just sign up to sell their last bits/clear garage. Instead they put on ebay or TGTT Puts off those who come on, sell a few bits and realise what a great community it is so stay On a separate note, fair play if you want to make money, but don't forget it then stops being a not for profit club and becomes a business, meaning tax returns etc ;)

Not saying you don't know what you are saying Geo, I am saying that is how it comes across and this last post makes it sound even more like that. To me it reads that due to all the time, effort, grief etc that you feel you should be getting money, so these membership fees are paying you back for the past! Obviously not trying to cause any issues, I know the effort you put in, I was there at the start! If the other sites are so small surely Matt can't charge much to host them!
-
You might want to phrase that a little differently Geo as that makes it sounds like you are just trying to line your pockets, which I am sure isn't the case! Surely Matt will still be far cheaper than your current hosting provider to host all of your sites? What are the membership costs/fees/trader costs on those sites?
-
I agree with quite a few of the comments on here and on the FB page. IF you go down the paying route you need to also get the trust from members that they are paying to keep the site alive and be transparent with the costs. Knowing the payments just the traders make it seems to me that you are paying far far too much for this site. Surely it makes sense, and I know you won't like it being said, but after the guy has worked his ass off to bring this club back along with you, that you speak to Matt. Yes still pay for hosting elsewhere and get a backup transferred there daily so you always have a backup plan, but this site is taking up too much cash. Your other option is what about a similar donation system to Civic Life?

Strange, drop him an email on sales@cg-lock.co.uk Graham is usually super fast to reply to me and said ANY problem, no matter how small to drop him a line!

Just spoken again to Colin at Javelin to finalise details. I will be firing off an email to everyone with the forms to fill etc etc but a few bits to add: Passengers - I was hoping these would be free but now asking for £5 (most places cost £10) Second drivers - Again, I was hoping to be free but £20 (normally £25) Camping - You will have to be on your best behaviour but cost is £10pp paid direct to the track, just awaiting the final details, but hot showers and toilets This is mainly for drivers as the track owner is a bit funny about huge groups Spectators - More than welcome to come along, spectate, take pictures, socialise etc, the more the merrier!
