  1. Thanks buddy I've got a set of the same discs but have s. Piston brembo calipers and pads also from a fiat coupe 20v turbo thati plan on trying to modify to fit

Excellent choice! With the proper adaptors you won't have any problem. Just make sure to use the proper grade of aluminium in order to be lightweight and durable without corrosion problems... They are your car BRAKES after all :p

  2. I would imagine that 69bhp is at the wheels of the paseo and the 90hp on the starlet is at the flywheel. Paseo is much faster, very aerodynamic and accepts all the mods a starlet will and looks better doing it lol.

    So true so true :(

  3. Sounds good, ill probably do that as well in the future, seeing as this is my daily driver and i cant afford to keep it off the road for long.

Have you put yours down the 1/4 mile?

Yeap its my daily driver as well so I didn't want it to be off the road for too much long. I'm still in the run-in process of the 5E-FHE (I made a complete overhaul before I install it), but I don't find a reason to take to to the 1/4, as the car is more concentrated on handling and attacking corners rather than running on the strip. Although when I make the final fine adjustments in the ecu I'll take to a dyno road to see the results

  4. Sorry just meant how hard was it to add the turbo

I haven't installed the turbo yet mate, I'm running in the engine right now and will have it as an n/a for a little while, until I get the money for a custom exhaust, d/p and i/c piping (thats the only things left). I won't be hard thought just a simple swap, as I have prepared everything exactly for this sole purpose.

  5. Thats good news, keep us up to date with your progress (the non-Acis 5efhe is probably from a Sera or a 2nd Gen Cynos).

Running the stock ACIS loom and ECU will make things far more easier (and cheaper as you will not need an rpm controller to run the ACIS when you'll install it). Also keep the 5e-fhe exh. manifold and modified it to fit (don't swap it with 5e-fe of 4e-fe, its far better, except if you go for an aftermarket).

  6. Yeah that would be cool, I finished watching the whole initial d series a few weeks ago. It's the best. Takami fujiwara is king.

Start reading the manga then because the battles continue beyond the ones in the anime :) (its still ongoing in japan)

  7. Wangan Midnight is a classic (I've been a big fun for years now). If you liked the movie YOU MUST see the anime, as it takes it much futher with epic battles with many other cars (Supra, Evo, RX7 etc). Its a same that they haven't fully translated the manga thought....

  8. Awesome progress on this, really liking the work you've done.

The C/F effect dial surround - Is it one of my old ones by any chance? :p

Thanks for comments and I hope it goes even better from now on cause I still haven't installed the good parts! :)

The c/f effect dial and the rest of the interior parts are made by me :) . The spark-plug cables are your old ones thought :D

  9. Τhanks for the kind words guys. It really took me forever to get to this stage and I haven't even started yet.

I'm really anxious to see how the new engine will perform with the n/a setup and see the ACIS in work (the dyno results and experimenting on a Greek forged GT equipped with the ACIS in our last dyno session were apocalyptic to say the least...) . :)

  10. So finally after A LOT of patience and waiting and a stroke of luck despite my awful financial situation I managed to make the first serious performance upgrade.

As you know I've bought more than a year now a 5E-FHE engine from a 1st gen auto Cynos.

When I took it apart to inspect it I've seen that it was in quite a good shape. So with everything in bolt and pieces I've had the engine profesionally overhauled with brand new OE parts (full overhaul kit, oli/water pump, piston rings, etc) except from ACL Duroglide bearings and ARP headbolts.

    th_010.jpgth_0055.jpgth_0064.jpgth_0060.jpg

Except all the above along with the new engine I made a full loom conversion from Glanza V, with a Power FC ecu for EP91 and the handheld Commander, a Zeitronix wideband with the extra EGT sensor (that I haven't installed yet) in a custom pod in the dash, 8mm Megnecor Electrosports Series spark-plug wires, Apexi Power Intake air filter and Spec Stage 3 upgrade clutch kit along with some more minor stuff.

So the car is ready now and I'm making the first (not so gentle) klm to run-in the new engine and after that I'll have the final ecu mapping along with some other details that I haven't finished, to see what this little engine can do as a n/a.

In the mean time while the car was in the shop for the swap I paint the rear tail-lights red (USDM style  ) and had some 6mm spacers made for the rear wheels (I already have 7mm in the front wheels) .

The future plans are to install the stuff that are left in storage and make a light turbo conversion with a Garrett GT25 probably (yes with stock internals and n/a compression :) ). For the time being the updated spec list is on the first post.

  11. Got my copy today and I have one word .... disappointment. Actually make this 2 words, BIG disappointment.

It surely the best PS3 has to offer and I didn't play more than a couple of hours with some mates, but really WTF were they thinking at Digital Polyphony? This crap took them 5 years to develop? With those hideous graphics, the half ass option and aftermarket tuning? I was a big fan of the series but I can admit the Forza is far better....
