  1. bit of an old post but you got some pictures of this modified sump and thermostat housing your talking about so i can see what they've tried to accomplish? thanks Tim
  2. i find if your using it purely for cooling its best to use 100% water over alcohol, but i want to raise the octane level of the petrol so i can use more ignition advance for power. but cooling also helps so probaby going with a 25/75% water to alcohol ratio. worked very well on my 3sgte this kit came from. intake temps dropped around 20 degree's on a hot day and was able to add another 4 degree's of ignition advance. gained around 20-25bhp from this setup. Tim
  3. handlings about the same but doesn't creek around as much. Just need to build the rest of the system now Tim
  4. yeah check the bushes, get those rear suspension on the back (personally i would have waited to fit all 4 at once) and then get it full lazer alligned mate
  5. if you don't map for it it'll massivly overfuel because methanol is a fueling agent. regarding pump failing you could say exactly the same for anything in the normal cars fueling, what happens if hte fuel pressure regulator goes weak and i see this alot, takes the engine. what if the fuel injectors get dirty, less fuel = failed engine. so its the same with anything buddy. But if you have a good system like the aquamist kits they come with a blocked yet or no pressure warning led, so if the pump fails or jets clog you get a warning led to lift off. In mine i've got a fancy little system i wir
  6. sure thats not just allinment? you had it lazer allinged since you played with the suspension etc
  7. i've been away for a few weeks with customers cars so not been online and it was like this when i came back, maybe it happens when the forum has an update or something? goes back to default settings etc? Tim
  8. yeah there great little cars, build quality is the same to what i'm used to but they are a cheap little car. the thing i like the most is that i can drive this with complete confidence and hold it on the limit, where the mr2 thers always that thing in my mind that its going to kill me cornering at 120mph haha that the best excuse you could come up with ste yeah sure thing mate just pop down you know where i am
  9. yeah that was my throught but i don't know, like ste said its meant to be a runabout haha
  10. is it some setting i have enabled or something but why don't the replies to topics just appear under the orignal so you can scroll down and read peoples replies, over just having a list at the bottom of the page and having to click on each one in turn. hoping this is just a setting i can turn off as its horrible and flustrating when your trying to just look around and read through peoples projects
  11. mmm how different? anyone got some piccys etc? i only ask as if i did this st205 gt4 conversion i'd have to make the whole new floor anyway, plus engine bay, and arches for the wider track. this just seems the easier option, although i'm not a fan of that live rear axle setup on the 85/95. anyone had good power out of these? whats the rear end like on big power? Tim
  12. i'm in the middle of fitting methanol injection to my glanza, its been retrofitted from another car i had. just finished building the tank for it which i could only really fit into the boot. what you guys think, made from 304 stainless (methanol eats alloy), 4.5ltr capacity and foam filled to stop any surge. This is going to feed into a small lifter pump which will push it to a smaller 1ltr swirl pot in the engine bay where the methanol pump will take it and feed it into the engine at high pressure. think the tank came out quite well, 27 pieces lol Tim
  13. are there any differences in the chassis between the 2? is it possible to convert a ep91 to 4x4? i was looking at a st205 4x4 conversion but also looking at other options and wandering whats out there etc. anyone tried it?
  14. well seriously not after stupid power, i just think the 1.5 will give a nicer everyday car with more torque. and only going with a gt2554r because thats what garrett recommend over the gt2056r which there works were "i wouldn't ideally use that as its not a great design and suffers from heat issues in the turbine" if it wasn't for that i'd use that turbo, but the 2554 was the smallest ball bearing turbo they did. But we shall see. cheers on the information, just doing my homework first, i'm sure it'll be clear once i get both stripped next to each other Tim TB Developments
  15. ah ok. just doing my homework at the moment into that bits i need. 5E rods i think you can use forged 4efte pistons and would i need 5e or 4e bearings for the crank, i'm sure it'll be the 5e but wasn't use what the journal sizes were on the crank as i've not had it apart yet Tim TB Developments
  16. yeah a few people said £200 was a bit much but for a full bottom end which is basically a stroker setup i wasn't going to complain. i mean your looking to pay over tripple that to do the same thing to a 3sgte. Tim TB Developments
  17. well i only paid like £200 for the whole bottom end, wasn't even really looking for one just came up and thought why not. They can't be that hard to find surely? Tim TB Developments
  18. what you after mate? i'm from kidderminster and a starlet specalists, i also use brettel lane toyota but get a trade discount so might be able to help Tim TB Developments
  19. i plan on doing a full built up project anyway showing a step by step and the differences, whats needed etc. plan on doing it my way as well, there are a few project threads up about this but there missing some detail, and things like hte oil filter take off "it'll be ok with just hte middle bolt" where the 4efte has the main feed bolt but also 3 securing bolts. but the 5e block has the metal there just not hte holes so i'll be machining where needed. I've also been speaking to fidanza as i'm a dealer to supply me with a blank drilled 4efte flywheel so i can just machine my own holes into th
  20. nope just 5e on it at the moment, but the time i'm finished it'll be a full forged 5efte with lightweight crank, rods and forged pistons, custom ARP bolts throughout. Cam'd head with uprated +1mm Oversize Valves and nicely ported. Not sure what kind of power its going to make but i'm using a Gt2554r on a custom setup i'm doing working off my jam racing manifold and billet steel adaptor system with tial wastegate. I'm after 200bhp which should be dead easy and as much torque as i can get. Then we'll have to see what it does around the 1.5bar mark for a play time thing. Want to get this done
