  1. thanks mate, i picked up something the weekend, not sure how special or rare it is but its got 5e stamped on it Tim TB Developments
  2. it was a place called blackexhaustcoatings or something similar. they charged me about £180.00 for all 3 parts to be done Tim TB Developments
  3. nope not 2nd to nathan on anything, his car produced less power than ours. Anyway enough of nathan, lets keep this on topic. no worries jev, hopfully see you soon mate Tim TB Developments
  4. only thing i don't have is a rolling road because i use someone about 50miles away who does all my mapping for me, plus hes got a 250k climate controlled dyno cell with over 30years of motorsport mapping for some of the biggest companies out there. so always figured why bother when i've got someone like that i can use. Apart from that i can do everything else. and anyone that knows me from the 3sgte world will know my work reputation is flawless, producing some of the most powerfulist cars out there, believe we've done the highest power 3sgte mr2 (955bhp) in the uk and 2nd in the world Tim
  5. thanks guys. yeah the business is quite big in the gt4 and mr2 world (don't mean to sound bigheaded or anything) just trying to get into the starlet scene, but having to do it the hardway as i can't seem to get a trader status on the forums, so have to do it via word of mouth Tim TB Developments
  6. thanks guys, using this as a showcar for my tuning company so trying to show off what i can do, so only using the best and rarest parts, so hopefully grab some attention at the shows etc. Got some subtle side graphics for it to show the business name soon, they'll go where the "glanza" graphics normally go. Been very slow at the moment on the starlet front so if you ever know of anyone wanting work done in the midlands area (worcester) pass my details there way please Got a nice chargecooler build going on shortly. I was going to go front mount IC etc, but i had a nice box chargecooler for
  7. sorry not been getting topic replies again so missed these last replies. Y3lo, i might have done, you got any pictures of your car? you'll have to pop down the workshop as were only in stourport Ricky, I've just been playing around with some surplus parts i had from the mr2, 200bhp isn't really my goal now so it'll make what it makes really. Although i do have another engine which i'll probably end up forging. Anyway been very busy in the workshop so haven't had chance to update this recently but i've been collecting parts like mad. Despite not wanting to go to coilovers the rear shocks sta
  8. if its any good to you when i rebuild my K1 turbocharger i found alot of it was off the shielf toyota bits. Basically its a TD12 shaft and turbine wheel with custom blitz compressor wheel and housing. The blitz compressor wheel was bigger than the stock td12 one so i'd say the K1 would produce more power. The Compressor seems more evolved than the td12 as well. Can't wait to get mine fitted and see what all the hype is about. I did something a little special as well and converted it from a normal oil journal bearing to a dual ball bearing setup Responce here we come lol Tim TB Developments
  9. anyone used the eagle F1 GD3's? i've used them on the mr2 for years and been impressed, wandering what there like on the glanza's Also anyone ever heard of Bridgestone Playa's. I've got all 4 when the car came from japan. only information i can find is its a JDM only tyre, great in the dry but its all over the road in the wet. Tim TB Developments
  10. externals are only better at controlling boost because they are normally bigger. So if you have both a 35mm wastegate opening it won't matter if its internal or external wastegate. So don't jump to external wastegate for the sake of it as like ste said its usually alot more money Tim TB Developments
  11. ah i see. yea like people said let it thaw out, also take the radiator cap off. hopefully the freezing process hasn't done any damage. Tim TB Developments
  12. if the water was froze to cause the water pump to be seeze solid to a point where the belt couldn't turn it, wouldn't it do this from the initial start up, not 5seconds afterwards. thats if the start could turn it at all. i'd do a visual check of the belts make sure nothing has dropped onto them and got caught. also did the smoke havea smell? could be totally off here but maybe alternator belt is squeeling and the smoke was steam from having snow on the engine heating up? possabilities? Tim TB Developments
  13. how much oil we talking? and is the camcase breather connected before the turbo? Tim TB Developments
  14. yeah we found the same with the 3sgte in the mr2. 500bhp is about the absolute limit on the road, 400bhp makes a nice going road car and i can built that prietty reliably. Drag racing is another story though, were at 955bhp with that, can't drive that on the road at all, spins in 5th frm just flooring the accelorator at 100mph lol, but drag its capable of 9's sorry for going off topic but i take it you had some cossie background, thats where i cut my teeth building engines built my first one at 14 ;) Tim TB Developments
  15. well said, some people forget about the big picture sometimes when sellecting parts and building cars. I mean i've built some nice 600bhp mr2's in the past, very fast but you get them on the road and its just spinning up all the time and a well built 350bhp will leave it for dead. Tim TB Developments
  16. ste, sell the honda and come back to starlets next you'll be asking me to lower my standards and have a honda of all cars in the workshop Tim TB Developments
  17. i did think this but he says its boosting fine so i assumed this is sub 1 bar pressures Tim TB Developments
  18. i've been getting this on mine, half the problem is when you remove the boost restrictor it allows it to creep higher even if you don't change anything else. Also i'm getting the check light on mine at 0.85-0.90, and then i once hit 0.92bar and it properly hit fuel cut with a judder, so refitted the boost limiter until i get my blitz boost controller fitted. Also the £20 boost controllers is this the grainger valve type? if so i do them at £17 delivered to your door . Tim TB Developments
  19. yeah there 15" got a link to the PDF mate? i'll do that and i'll be able to give you feedback to wether they'll fit with these wheels. Tim TB Developments ps, emailed you as well
  20. its rare for valve stem oil seals to cause smoking when warm there only normally when the car is initally started. Another to note is oil burns white if you have the cat still in place. Do you have the cat still there? If so it might also be turbine oil seals leaking on the turbo, quite common on the ct20b Tim TB Developments
  21. could also be the blades touching the alloy compressor housing from to much shaft play. so check that as well Tim TB Developments
  22. well the benifits of an external wastegate is that'll it'll flow alot more gas flow and keep boost more under control. another note which most people don't factor in is that even with the internal wastegate open and boost under control as the rpm's increase there is a build up of back pressure inside the exhaust manifold, The internal wastegate might be big enough to flow exhaust gas but a bigger opening will also be able to bleed away more back pressure energy. You can use wastegate size to tune for topend flow. What i found on using a gt2860rs turbo on a 3sgte is that torque would drop of
  23. i agree there isn't really anything overly techincal in there at all, could go alot more indepth with turbocharger sellection Tim TB Developments
  24. get some buddyclub p1 alloys to test lol hoping i can get these on without spacers etc Tim TB Developments
